It's time for the Week 14 installment of Monday night matchups with my start/sit recommendations. This week, the Ravens and Patriots square off in a potential playoff preview.
Each week of the NFL season, we will be breaking down every game and providing you with some fantasy football advice and lineup recommendations based on matchups that we love, matchups that we hate, and injury information as well. It’s essential to analyze the weekly NFL matchups to find lineup sleepers and gems, while also avoiding those players who may turn out to be busts.

Ravens @ Patriots - Monday 12/12 @ 8:30 PM EST
Matchups We Love
Tom Brady (QB, NE) - Brady's fantasy point totals have been declining at the wrong time. After a four touchdown game at San Fran, Brady has only thrown three TD in the last two weeks combined. The Ravens pose a formidable threat, but Brady has only thrown one interception on the entire season and has only been slowed in one game against Seattle. He may be airing it out more in this game than the last two out of necessity, making him at least a top 10 QB.
Malcolm Mitchell (WR, NE) - Mitchell is on a roll lately, catching 17 passes and three touchdowns in the last three weeks. With Gronk gone and Bennett hampered by injuries, Mitchell should keep seeing more targets. He didn't reach the end zone last week, but has a great chance against a Ravens team that has given up more TD to wide receivers (18) than any team other than San Francisco. It might be hard to start a recent waiver wire add in a fantasy playoff game, but Mitchell looks like a good bet to produce WR2 numbers.
Matchups We Hate
LeGarrette Blount (RB, NE) - Blount loves December, averaging over five yards per carry and more yards per game in the month than any other. He isn't crucial to New England's chances in this game, however, and his role could be downplayed in the matchup. The Ravens are statistically the best run defense in the league right now, but have been susceptible to the deep passing game at times. Look for New England to attack Baltimore's corners and utilize their pass-catching backs more than Blount.
Terrance West (RB, BAL) - This matchup may favor rookie Kenneth Dixon, who is much more involved in the pass game. The Patriots allow the fourth-fewest rushing yards, but the fifth-most receiving yards to RB. Dixon had been cutting more into West's snap share each game until last week. If West struggles early, Dixon could see his snaps increase once again.
Notable Players
Joe Flacco (QB, BAL) - Flacco was huge last week, but don't mistake him for a QB1 all of a sudden. Prior to Week 13, Flacco had an 11/10 TD/INT ratio on the season. This first place Patriots team is nothing like the injury-riddled Dolphins defense from last week. Flacco has been fairly good against the Pats in his career, averaging 298 passing yards in four games against them. He still shouldn't be trusted in anything but two-quarterback leagues.
Key Injuries: Danny Amendola (WR, NE) - out, Rob Gronkowski (TE, NE) - out, Martellus Bennett (TE, NE) - questionable, Crockett Gillmore (TE, BAL) - out, Lorenzo Taliaferro (RB, BAL) - out
