The quarterback position has been unpredictable in 2015, and many fantasy football fans have turned to streaming versus sticking with one player consistently. That game plan definitely has its positives and this week is no different. With the playoffs approaching for many leagues, there are two quarterbacks that could provide great results for your pivotal matchup.
The New York Jets struck gold this season with the signing of veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Both the Jets and fantasy owners have benefited from his surprising success. Not counting the game against the Oakland Raiders that forced him to leave in the first quarter, Fitzpatrick has scored at least two touchdowns in ten of eleven games. The Tennessee Titans are averaging two passing touchdowns allowed per game. You don’t have to major in math to understand that the consistency of Fitzpatrick and the weakness of the Titans pass defense should lead to a big game.
His chemistry with star wide receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker is something the Jets passing game has not seen in many years. Fitzpatrick has also started to implement a running aspect to his game. The New York Giants were burned by a clutch run by Fitzpatrick on a crucial fourth down play last week. You can trust Fitzpatrick in good matchups and he should be looked at a viable option in both standard leagues and daily fantasy.
Another surprise quarterback standout this season has been Jameis Winston. No one expected the rookie to quarterback a team into playoff contention this year, yet the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are very much alive in the NFC Wild Card race. Winston has a perfect matchup in a home game against the atrocious New Orleans Saints defense. New Orleans is the worst overall defense and the worst passing defense in the NFL this season. Quarterbacks are destroying them on a weekly basis, and Winston should be in for a huge outing. With momentum on their sides and great matchups coming up, Winston and Fitzpatrick are the two best streaming quarterback options this week.
