Week 13 Tight End Outlooks For Fantasy Football
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints - Fantasy Football Outlook
New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill went off in Week 11, taking seven carries for a career-high 138 rushing yards and three touchdowns, catching eight passes for 50 receiving yards, and completing an 18-yard pass. Hill also logged a 42-yard kick return in the win over the Browns.
While it would be unreasonable to expect a repeat performance, fantasy managers can look forward to Hill being a more regular part of the Saints' offense going forward. Over the last four games, Hill has drawn 5.3 targets and five rushing attempts per game. Those numbers were buoyed by his massive Week 11 when he saw season-highs in targets and carries.
Earlier this week, interim head coach Darren Rizzi said of Hill "I think sprinkling him a little bit everywhere is when we're at our best." Up next, the Saints take on the Los Angeles Rams, who have given up the ninth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends this year and are allowing 4.59 yards per carry. Hill may not pop off like his last game but he is in line for another week in the top 12.
- Dan Stephens, RotoBaller
Zach Ertz, Washington Commanders - Fantasy Football Outlook
Washington Commanders tight end Zach Ertz has found the end zone in each of the past two games and should continue to be viewed as a low-end TE1 in all formats facing the Tennessee Titans in Week 13. After seeing just one target in Week 9, Ertz has seen at least seven targets in his past three straight contests.
During this span, Ertz has averaged 13.2 PPR points per game with 38.7 yards per game. Since Week 6, Ertz has scored double-digit PPR points in five of the past seven games. Despite the Titans allowing the eighth-fewest PPR points to opposing tight ends this season, fantasy managers should feel confident starting Ertz in most standard formats, given his reliable target share.
- Andy Smith, RotoBaller
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Fantasy Football Outlook
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton was helping carry the load on offense while wide receiver Mike Evans was sidelined. Last week, Evans returned to the field, and Otton saw his workload take a significant hit. The third-year tight end was able to haul in one of his three targets for 30 yards in the win over the New York Giants.
The expectation is that Otton will see his value decrease with Evans back in the mix. However, Otton has shown he can be a legitimate contributor, so he should remain in the offensive game plan. Fantasy managers should expect a bounce-back outing from Otton against the Carolina Panthers this weekend. However, fantasy managers should keep their expectations in check, as his eight-catch games are probably behind him now.
