The worst feeling for a fantasy owner is playing someone you expected to have a big day for you, end up posting a dud of a performance. Here are some of the biggest fantasy busts for this week.
Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is without a doubt one of the best running backs in the NFL, and is the current rushing leader. With that being said, Peterson put up one of the worst performances of his career, rushing the ball just eight times for 18 yards in a 7-38 blowout loss against the Seattle Seahawks.
The Vikings abandoned the run game in the blowout loss, which rendered Peterson a non-factor. Despite the dud performance, remains an RB1 in fantasy, even with a game against the tough run defense of the Arizona Cardinals next week.
Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill put up his worst performance of the season, throwing for just 86 yards one nine-for-nineteen passing, one touchdown, and one interception. Terrible may not be the word for Tannehill’s performance. Though he has been serviceable throughout the year, Sunday’s performance is an example of the bad side of Tannehill. He is still a low-end QB1 in fantasy.
St. Louis Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley is arguably the offensive rookie of the year, but he put up a performance on Sunday that left a lot to be desired. The rookie back rushed for just 41 yards on nine attempts. He was not targeted in the passing game.
The Rams’ offense has been anemic these past few weeks, and Gurley has felt the consequences. He remains an RB1, but beware of the Rams’ offense and its effect on Gurley in the last month of the season.
