Bound To Go Bonkers in Week 10
Top 5 Fantasy Football Daily League Sleepers (Fanduel)
(WR) - Doug Baldwin $5,300 - Going up against the Falcons' NFL worst-ranked pass defense heading into Week 10, it's not too shocking that Seattle wide receiver Doug Baldwin got more involved in the Seahawks passing attack after #2 wide receiver Sidney Rice was lost for remainder of the 2013 season. After receiving just one target in each of three straight games heading into last week's breakout versus Tampa, Dougy Fresh was shown love 10 times by Russell Wilson, and he netted six receptions for a whopping 75 yards and a touchdown. We know the good folks at Fanduel aren't too quick to price-adjust this sleeper wide receiver on a run-first offense, but with that kind of improvement, we like the Stanford possession receiver as a viable sleeper wide receiver option for Week 10 and moving forward while his price remains this low.
(WR) - Jerricho Cotchery $6,100 - Facing the Buffalo Bills' putrid secondary heading into this Week 10 NFL matchup at home will be a delicious opportunity for the former Jet great to make you some money in a Fanduel tournament or heads-up battle. The Bills have given up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers through Week 10, and it doesn't seem like there will be any improvements made to those numbers as they face the pass-happy Big Ben and the Steel City passing attack. Don't miss this opportunity to sneak him in after the monster week that should have (but didn't) sent his price tag skyrocketing.
(WR) - Steve Johnson $5,600 - This ain't your daddy's Steel Curtain defense that the Bills wide receivers will be facing heading into Week 10. Priced too cheaply to be the #1 wide receiver on any NFL team, we don't really care who is throwing the ball when you're facing an Ike Taylor-less 27th-ranked pass defense. Stevie Johnson has a knack for finding the end zone, having scored a touchdown in a third of his games this season with at least five catches in all but three of those performances. At the end of the day, we wouldn't recommend him for every matchup, but when a WR3 with WR1 upside is identified in any given week, it is important to strike while the iron's hot and make use of that matchup. After all, sites like Fanduel require you to slot in three wide receivers in addition to all of your other budgeting, so guys priced well below $7K are always targets of ours. Week 10 is that kind of week for Mr. Johnson, so don't be on the sidelines watching as he goes bonkers on the Steelers secondary.
(RB) - Fred Jackson $6,600 - Let's stay in this Bills-Steelers matchup for a minute as we shift gears to the running backs with the most sleeper potential in Week 10 of Fanduel play. Heading our list of undervalued running back studs is none other than Buffalo's veteran Fast Freddie Jackson. Even if C.J. Spiller is splitting carries with him, the Bills are a run-first offense these days, with a quarterback carousel since EJ Manuel busted up his knee and has missed extended time. Ultimately, Jackson is projected to have a very strong game, and since he's averaging 13.9 fantasy points per week on Fanduel thus far in 2013, we think you should strongly take heed of our analysis and watch your team soar under the supervision of our first sleeper running back pick for Week 10.
(RB) - Shonn Greene $4,900 - Yes, Chris Johnson is the starting running back for the Titans, but why not spread the rock around on the ground for a team that has shown the ability to run hard of late with a duo more than capable of bringing some finesse and packing a punch? After the Tennessee Titans coaching staff promised an increased workload for Greene in Week 9, the tough running back delivered with nine carries for 38 yards and a rushing touchdown (even though they promised us 15 carries, we'll forgive them because they sprinkled in 28-yard reception as well). Keep in mind that this came in a game that saw some vintage C2K gashing the St. Louis Rams, so this proves to us that the Titans are finding their identity as a ground-and-pound team with two very effective running backs. With the Titans taking on the Jaguars and their horrific defense in another dream matchup for Week 10, if you are looking to steal the show and go super-duper cheap at your second running back position (in order to get in Peyton Manning or another overpriced superstar), then this former Jets great is most certainly your man!
