DraftKings Quarterbacks - Week 10 DFS Picks
Patrick Mahomes - JAX @ KC ($7,900)
Patrick Mahomes is hitting his stride. The KC gunslinger strolls into Week 10 off back-to-back outings with 30-plus DK points and 400-plus passing yards.
Not many QBs in the NFL - or in the history of the NFL, for that matter - can rack up DK points like Mahomes when he’s in a groove and there’s little reason to believe that Jacksonville will be much of an obstacle this week. While the Jags have made progress since the Urban Meyer debacle ended, they’re still, well, the Jaguars, and rank 27th in the NFL in Pass Defense DVOA.
Justin Fields - DET @ CHI ($6,500)
I had Justin Fields in this article last week and he did indeed #BreakTheSlate. Fields was the top-scoring QB on the Week 9 slate and broke Michael Vick’s 20-year-old single-game rushing record for a QB with 178 yards on the ground against Miami. Yeah…big things.
Fields has now scored 24 or more DK points in three straight, and while his price has been bumped, he still sits at a reasonable $6.5k.
He draws the mother of all matchups in Week 10 with the lowly Detroit Lions coming to town. The Lions rank dead last in the NFL in total yards (427.3) and points per game (29.3) allowed. Detroit is the worst team in the league in Total Defense DVOA and Chicago's new Fields-centric offense has every chance to succeed in this spot.
DraftKings Running Backs - Week 10 DFS Picks
Saquon Barkley - HOU @ NYG ($8,600)
It’s easy to overthink things in DFS sometimes, but I’m gonna keep it simple with Saquon Barkley here.
Barkley comes into this matchup against the pitiful Houston Texans rested and fresh off New York’s bye week. He’s one of the NFL’s most dependable backs when it comes to usage, as his RB opportunity share (85%) and snap share (83.4%) both rank as the best in the league to this point.
Targeting the Texans is also a no-brainer, as they’ve been sliced and diced on the ground this year. Houston is last in the NFL in rushing yards (1,234) and rushing TDs (12) allowed to the RB position.
Travis Etienne - JAX @ KC ($7,100)
Unlike the last few weeks, this slate doesn’t have (at least as I type this) an injury-driven smash play at the RB position. In the absence of a clear value option, Travis Etienne is probably our best chance to get true bang for our buck, as he’s proven himself to be an explosive player that has a stranglehold on the workload in this Jacksonville backfield.
The second-year back has taken advantage of his new lead dog status and has rushed for 100-or-more yards and at least one TD in three straight games. There’s a lot to like about this game environment against KC, as the Chiefs have allowed a league-high 63 receptions to opposing backs and are relinquishing a healthy 4.7 yards per carry on the ground.
DraftKings Wide Receivers - Week 10 DFS Picks
Davante Adams - IND @ LV ($8,700)
It has been a roller coaster couple of weeks for Davante Adams, as he experienced his worst game since joining the Raiders in Week 8 and his best in Week 9.
Despite dropping a ridiculous 10/146/2 line on Jacksonville last week, Adams still left the game with a bad taste in his mouth - and wasn’t shy about sharing those feelings - after the Raiders seemed to go away from him in the second half of the embarrassing loss.
We can expect the squeaky wheel to get the grease this week, as the Raiders are in “must-win” mode against the Colts. Las Vegas has placed both Darren Waller and Hunter Renfrow on IR this week. Look for Adams to dominate the target load in this depleted Raiders passing attack.
JuJu Smith-Schuster - JAX @ KC ($6,000)
After a sluggish start to the year, the former Pittsburgh Steeler has finally found his footing in KC. JuJu has now gone over 88 receiving yards in three straight while going for over 110 yards and a TD in two of the Chiefs' last three. He logged season highs in both targets (12) and catches (10) last week, yet still comes in at a reasonable price point on DK for Week 10.
Gaining confidence with each game, Smith-Schuster will take aim at a Jags secondary that has allowed the NFL’s third-most receiving TDs (11) and seventh-most DK points to the WR position.
DraftKings Tight Ends - Week 10 DFS Picks
Travis Kelce - JAX @ KC ($7,800)
With a tight salary scale for this slate, the massive price tag will drive many away from Kelce, but we’ve talked about his value as a true positional separator in this article before.
He’s scored 176.4 DK points this season, which would make him the sixth-highest-scoring WIDE RECEIVER in the NFL this year. Per the great Evan Silva, Kelce has logged 98-yards and/or a TD in 13 of his last 14 games. It’s the type of consistent high-end production that simply doesn’t exist at the TE slot outside of Kelce.
For those of you that are still trying to justify spending up on him this week…the Jaguars rank dead last in the NFL in DVOA vs. the TE position and Jacksonville is yielding 8.8 yards per target to opposing TEs, which is the second-highest average in the league this season.
Greg Dulcich - DEN @ TEN ($3,400)
It has been a season with very few bright spots for this Denver Broncos offense. However, rookie TE Greg Dulcich would qualify as a very pleasant surprise for this struggling attack. Dulcich has put forth three strong performances since entering Denver's starting lineup in Week 6 and has quickly earned a stranglehold at the position for this team, as evidenced by his target share of nearly 18% over the Broncos' last three.
I like the usage and I like how Week 10 is shaping up for Dulcich. He draws a Tennessee unit that has struggled to slow down opposing tight ends. The Titans have relinquished the fourth-most receiving yards in the league to the TE position and their allowance of 8.32 yards per target to opposing TEs ranks bottom-five in the league.
This shaky Denver offense is tough to trust overall, but Dulcich has proven himself to be a legit downfield threat that sports a very impressive aDOT of 14.19. He has a real chance to eat in this matchup.
