ANALYSIS: We had zero doubts about how the Giants would proceed once they lost Saquon Barkley for the year: sign someone from the street, as the replacements in tow were rather poor. Now that that free agent (Devonta Freeman) is injured (ankle), New York won't be exploring the market once more and will rely on what they already have rostered. Enter Wayne Gallman.
Already backing Freeman up last TNF, Gallman carried the ball a healthy 10 times for 34 yards, and most importantly, a touchdown. Even more important was his role in the passing game, catching 5 of 5 targets for 20 receptions in the 32 snaps he played against Philly. Gallman has been rather nice on that facet of the game, with a catch rate of 91% this season on 11 targets.
Gallman's 16.4 PPR points in Week 7 are obviously his season-best tally, and perhaps showed his ceiling, but Gallman should play at an RB2 level (around 12 PPR) weekly with the backfield for him to exploit entirely. Not a shallow league addition, but definitely someone to consider in deeper formats to play as a good FLEX (New York's upcoming matchups aren't great, that's why).
