BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 2% of leagues
ANALYSIS: It's rare that a player in Wayne Gallman's position ends up being so lightly owned. We usually think of most RB2s as rosterable players in most formats, but the Giants are a special situation, as Saquon Barkley's presence as the team's bell cow back meant that there was no reason to roster Gallman. Over the first two weeks of the season, Gallman had two carries for 17 yards and three catches for 24. Those are hardly the numbers of a player worth a fantasy roster spot.
But on Sunday, Saquon Barkley left the game with a high ankle sprain that should keep him out for some time. Meanwhile, New York seemingly found themselves a quarterback, with rookie Daniel Jones having one of the best NFL debuts ever from a fantasy perspective.
Moving from Eli Manning to Jones should make all the various pieces of the Giants offense run better, which will include the running game. Gallman steps in as the RB1 on a team that should face fewer stacked boxes than it did with Saquon Barkley, and with Gallman playing all the non-Barkley snaps on Sunday, it's clear he's heading for a big workload.
We know this team likes to run the ball. We know they get their backs involved in the receiving game. We know the next man up after Gallman is Elijhaa Penny, who should scare anyone. If Gallman is available in your league -- he is, more than likely -- then get him onto your team. Hopefully you're ahead of the Barkley owner in waiver priority.
