The NASCAR Cup Series ran a single practice session at Watkins Glen on Saturday afternoon in preparation for the Go Bowling at The Glen race on Sunday afternoon.
The field was split into two groups for this practice session.
Below you'll find the two practice groups, key notes from the practice session and the practice speeds for all drivers.
Important Practice Notes
Denny Hamlin - After completing his first lap of practice, Denny Hamlin missed the corner in turn six and went off-track and into the gravel. He still continued to practice, though, so if there was any damage done to the racecar, it wasn't major.
Corey LaJoie - LaJoie had a similar experience as Denny Hamlin did, as he had a pretty wild lap a little past the halfway mark of practice. Prior to that happening, he put the 2nd-fastest lap of the group up, so it appears that No. 7 Chevrolet has some surprising speed.
Cole Custer - Cole Custer is racing in the No. 51 Ford for Rick Ware Racing this weekend. Last weekend at Indy Road Course, Andy Lally piloted this car to a 30th-place finish. Custer has raced this car at Michigan (he finished 25th) as well as Pocono (25th), Loudon (35th), and Atlanta (32nd) this season.
