The NFC is weak, but the NFC East is the strongest division -- with three teams all winning at least one playoff game last year -- and the Commanders draw the toughest AFC division in 2023.
According to Sharp Football Analysis, the Commanders have the sixth-toughest schedule in the NFL and the most fierce among NFC teams.
2023 Commanders Schedule Analysis for Fantasy Football
Miami, Chicago, and Arizona were bottom-10 teams against fantasy QBs last season, but the Bills, Broncos, 49ers, Eagles, Jets, Rams, and Cowboys were all among the ten toughest matchups for quarterbacks.
The Cardinals, Seahawks, Rams, and Broncos allowed a ton of points to fantasy running backs. On the flip side, the 49ers, Cowboys, Patriots, Bills, and Jets were the top teams against the position.
For wide receivers, the team draws favorable matchups in the Cowboys, 49ers, Bills, Falcons, and Rams, but could have a tough time against the Seahawks, Broncos, Jets, Cardinals, and Eagles. Ultimately, it's a mixed bag as usual for all positions, but it's worth noting the schedule sets up well for tight ends.
Washington has a Week 14 bye just before the fantasy football playoffs. The team will match up with the Rams, Jets, and 49ers in Weeks 15-17. The matchup with New York is a tough draw for all of the Washington fantasy-relevant players, but games against the Rams and 49ers could set up well for wideouts Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson, and Curtis Samuel. That said, the playoff schedule could mean bad news for running backs Brian Robinson Jr. and Antonio Gibson.
