BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 46% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Minus a rough outing in Arizona (4 IP, 4 ER, and 2 K), Philadelphia Phillies starting pitcher Vince Velasquez has been a solid streaming starter and borderline staple to a fantasy rotation. He has allowed two earned runs, or less, in seven of his last 10 appearances and struck out at least seven batters in four games during that same span.
Vinny Velo is also a two start pitcher this week, facing the Nationals in Washington and Blue Jays in Toronto. There are a few reasons that starting Velasquez in both of these matchups is a good thing. First off, this season, Velasquez has pitched against the Nationals for seven innings and has punched out seven batters (2.57 ERA). Secondly, Velasquez has a 5.02 ERA in 66 1/3 innings at home and a 3.02 ERA in 53 2/3 innings on the road. Considering that he has pitched well against the Nationals, the Blue Jays do not have a potent offense, and that he is good on the road, fire up the Velo in all leagues.
