If you're still holding on to New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz in any redraft leagues, you can probably go ahead and drop him. On Thursday, coach Tom Coughlin confirmed that Cruz has yet to practice.
"He’s rehabbing, working indoors primarily, working with the trainers, he’s in every meeting," Coughlin said, according to the New York Daily News. "However, he has not been cleared to be on the field."
The fact that the Giants have yet to place Cruz on injured reserve indicates that the team is planning on his return eventually. But fantasy football owners can't continue to waste a valuable roster spot on a receiver who has no timetable for returning. The way it looks now, Cruz won't be returning to the football field until the fantasy football playoffs at the earliest. And if you're able to make the playoffs without Cruz, you certainly won't need him when that time rolls around either.
