Week 5 of UFL action was dominated by the top teams, as all four favorites covered their respective spreads. Birmingham, St. Louis, and Michigan all won in convincing blowouts while delivering some impressive fantasy performances along the way.
It might be a lot of the same in Week 6. Birmingham (5-0) takes on Memphis (1-4) in the Saturday noon game, followed by Houston (1-4) @ St. Louis (4-1). Sunday kicks off with Arlington (0-5) at Michigan (3-2) and concludes as San Antonio (4-1) travels to DC (2-3).

Quarterback UFL Fantasy Football Rankings
Rankings and analysis by Brant Henson
Week 5 saw a plethora of backup quarterbacks stepping in to play for injured starters. The statuses of Chase Garbers, E.J. Perry, Case Cookus, and Jarrett Guarantano should all be monitored closely throughout the week, as they could significantly shake these rankings up.
Rank | Player Name | Team |
1 | A.J. McCarron | St. Louis Battlehawks |
2 | Quinten Dormady | San Antonio Brahmas |
3 | Luis Perez | Arlington Renegades |
4 | Danny Etling | Michigan Panthers |
5 | Adrian Martinez | Birmingham Stallions |
6 | Case Cookus | Memphis Showboats |
7 | Jordan Ta'amu | DC Defenders |
8 | Reid Sinnett | Houston Roughnecks |
9 | Matt Corral | Birmingham Stallions |
A.J. McCarron was firing on all cylinders last week, passing for 213 yards and two touchdowns in a 45-12. With the elite weapons surrounding him, McCarron is locked in as QB1 material until proven otherwise.
Quinten Dormady's gunslinger mentality hindered the Brahmas last week, as he threw three interceptions in a win powered by the run game. If he gets the start again, Dormady is in a prime position to bounce back against the league's worst pass defense -- which is, ironically, the DC Defenders.
Luis Perez has put up some solid stat lines despite sitting at 0-5 on the season. In Week 5, he went 26-for-36 for 270 yards and a touchdown. With not much of a run game to lean on and the probability that Arlington will be playing from behind against Michigan this week, Perez is an intriguing option with a safe floor.
Adrian Martinez delivered another masterclass in Week 5, throwing for 155 yards and a score while rushing for 138 yards on just nine carries (24.0 fantasy points). He would be all the way up at QB1 for this week if it was confirmed that he would be starting, but the Stallions continue to ride the quarterback carousel and have no reason to stop, given that they are undefeated.

Wide Receiver UFL Fantasy Football Rankings
Rankings and analysis by Brant Henson
Amid the Week 5 blowouts, several receivers had strong fantasy showings. Hakeem Butler (32.7 fantasy points), JaVonta Payton (24.9 fantasy points), and Daewood Davis (22.6 fantasy points) each had over 100 yards and at least one touchdown. With Week 6's matchups looking similar on paper to those of Week 5, here are how our rankings shape up:
Rank | Player Name | Team |
1 | Jahcour Pearson | St. Louis Battlehawks |
2 | Hakeem Butler | St. Louis Battlehawks |
3 | Jontre Kirklin | San Antonio Brahmas |
4 | Marcus Simms | Michigan Panthers |
5 | Kelvin Harmon | DC Defenders |
6 | Marquez Stevenson | San Antonio Brahmas |
7 | Daewood Davis | Memphis Showboats |
8 | Justin Hall | Houston Roughnecks |
9 | Marcell Ateman | St. Louis Battlehawks |
10 | Tyler Vaughns | Arlington Renegades |
11 | Deon Cain | Birmingham Stallions |
12 | JaVonta Payton | Arlington Renegades |
13 | Vinny Papale | Memphis Showboats |
14 | Deontay Burnett | Arlington Renegades |
15 | Jonathan Adams | Memphis Showboats |
16 | Keke Chism | Houston Roughnecks |
17 | Chris Rowland | DC Defenders |
18 | Trey Quinn | Michigan Panthers |
19 | Amari Rodgers | Birmingham Stallions |
20 | Cyril Grayson | Houston Roughnecks |
21 | Keke Coutee | DC Defenders |
22 | Justin Smith | San Antonio Brahmas |
23 | Darrius Shepherd | St. Louis Battlehawks |
24 | Siaosi Mariner | Michigan Panthers |
25 | Marlon Williams | Birmingham Stallions |
26 | Diondre Overton | Memphis Showboats |
27 | Anthony Ratliff-Williams | Houston Roughnecks |
Jahcour Pearson's encore to his Week 4 splash was less than impressive, as he caught just three passes for 43 yards in a game that Hakeem Butler dominated. However, fellow slot receiver Darrius Shepherd was inactive for the game. With Shepherd seemingly out of the rotation and with Marcell Ateman a clear-cut third in the pecking order, Pearson and Butler should see the majority of the target concentration in St. Louis.
As mentioned in the quarterback section, San Antonio is in a smash spot this week. DC just surrendered the best wideout showing of the season to Hakeem Butler, and both Jontre Kirklin and Marquez Stevenson will be looking to capitalize. On the other side of the ball, the Defenders are coming off of an atrocious offensive game, but receiver Kelvin Harmon appears to have cemented himself as the priority target in the offense. This is the game to target this week from a fantasy perspective.
Marcus Simms is one of my favorite plays this week. Coming off of a down week where he caught two passes for 37 yards, Simms has been a big play machine all season. The Renegades have surrendered a league-leading 12 yards per completion. Giving up big plays is the name of their game defensively. The matchup is perfect for Simms to find his way back into the endzone.
Houston's receiver duo of Justin Hall (11 catches for 93 yards) and Keke Chism (seven catches for 88 yards) strung together impressive stat lines last week, but the high passing volume was due to game script. While Houston in all likelihood will be blown out again, St. Louis gives up the least amount of passing yards in the league by a significant amount. Steer clear of the Roughnecks' passing game this week.
Tight End UFL Fantasy Football Rankings
Rankings and analysis by Andrew Lennox
There have been only minor shifts in the tight end rankings heading into Week 6, with Jace Sternberger, Cody Latimer, Sal Cannella, and Sage Surratt maintaining their positions at the head of the pack.
Rank | Player Name | Team |
1 | Jace Sternberger | Birmingham Stallions |
2 | Cody Latimer | San Antonio Brahmas |
3 | Sal Cannella | Arlington Renegades |
4 | Sage Surratt | Memphis Showboats |
5 | Alize Mack | San Antonio Brahmas |
6 | Cole Hikutini | Michigan Panthers |
7 | Alex Ellis | D.C. Defenders |
8 | Braedon Bowman | Houston Roughnecks |
9 | Kaden Smith | D.C. Defenders |
10 | Jake Sutherland | St. Louis Battlehawks |
Jace Sternberger continues to produce for the undefeated Birmingham Stallions, grabbing two passes out of four targets for 46 yards and a touchdown in a 32-9 victory over Houston. Despite the Stallions' dominance in rushing, Sternberger has consistently made his mark in the team's passing game, emerging as the team's leading receiver in touchdown receptions with two. While he's likely to remain a focal point in the passing attack, his fantasy appeal may hinge on his ability to register more touchdowns for the remainder of the season.
Arlington's Sal Cannella bounced back versus San Antonio after having an unproductive game in Week 5. He caught six of his eight targets for 40 yards despite the Renegades losing 25-15 to the Brahmas. Although he didn't score a touchdown, the tight end has been a dependable option in Luis Pérez's passing game, with 17 receptions from 27 targets for 164 yards and a touchdown this season. The 27-year-old ranks among the top 20 most productive receivers in the UFL and is a great fantasy option despite playing for the winless Renegades.
Panther's tight end Cole Hikutini hasn't been used much in the team's offense this season. However, in Michigan's 25-18 victory over Memphis, he hauled in three passes for 64 yards. After a strong outing, it will be interesting to see where Hikutini fits in the team's offense moving forward.
