BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 30% of Yahoo leagues
ANALYSIS: Tyler Skaggs is off to a nice start in 2018. The 26-year-old southpaw has taken two turns thus far and boasts a 1.64 ERA and 0.91 WHIP with 10 strikeouts in 11 innings. Perhaps most importantly, he issued just two walks and didn't allow a home run in those starts. He could stand to benefit in these areas by increasing the usage of his changeup. The pitch has a 13% whiff rate and 54% ground ball rate for his career, but he's only thrown it about 12 percent of the time in the majors.
Skaggs has had trouble staying healthy to this point in his career, which is a big reason why he's only got 326 MLB innings under his belt despite making his debut in 2012. If this is finally the year where his body doesn't betray him, the former first-round pick could have some sneaky value in standard leagues as a back-end starter with upside for more.
