BALLER MOVE: Worth a flier in deep leagues when promoted
CALL-UP ETA: July
ANALYSIS: The Mariners finally made the move and cut bait with first baseman Ty France this week and were originally expected to promote Tyler Locklear to take over as their everyday first baseman for the foreseeable future. However, the club interestingly recalled corner infielder Jason Vosler, not Locklear, from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. Perhaps it's due to the fact the M's face a right-hander in Jose Soriano on Tuesday, as the team could be opting for the lefty-swinging Vosler for the short term.
Nonetheless, it wouldn't be the 23-year-old's first taste of big-league action as Locklear slugged a pair of homers in 32 trips to the plate with Seattle earlier in the season, although he also struck out in 37.5% of those trips to the plate against a meager 3.1% BB%. Nonetheless, he also homered 12 times with 19 doubles and three triples across 72 games between Double-A and Triple-A this season, as well.

He's not the most exciting prospect in baseball but is still ranked as the 99th-best prospect in the game, as per MLB Pipeline. He has shown enough power in the minors to be considered in deep leagues if/when he is promoted, even at the first base position. Add in potential everyday at-bats, and Locklear can be a sneaky corner infield addition for contending fantasy rosters down the stretch.
