ANALYSIS: Will Tyler Conklin win you the league? Most probably, he won't. Will any member of the New York Jets do? Definitely not. Will Conklin help you score some fantasy points weekly without failing at it? You bet. See, that's the thing with Conklin, and that's also something that not every tight end out there – outside of the absolute cream of the crop at the position – offers.

If you look at his fantasy numbers you won't grow enamored of Conklin: at the end of the day, he's averaging 11.9 FPPG and has 35.8 over three games this season. Now, put that in context, and things look incredibly better. Conklin is the fourth-best TE right now in total PPR points, the second-fewest volatile of the top-4 in terms of his PPR weekly variation, and the second most-targeted tight end (25) in the league. Not bad, is it?

This past Sunday, against the Bengals, Conklin put up a perfect 8-for-8 in receptions to go with 84 receiving yards. He missed scoring a touchdown, yes, but it's not that you see a TE getting eight targets every weekend, let alone catching all of them for such large yardage.

Conklin has scored at least 9.0 PPR points each game this season and has yet to finish outside the top-15 TEs of any week of play--he's been TE11, TE15, and lastly TE4 (pending MNF). He's caught four, six, and eight passes in the three games already played, is appearing in virtually all offensive snaps, and he's clearly the pass-play TE running routes in the Jets offensive scheme way above teammate C.J. Uzomah.

The Jets have so many weapons on offense that it was always risky to draft any of them in late August/early September. Now that we know how the offense operates, it makes no sense to have Conklin available in four of every five Yahoo leagues out there. Make sure to add Conklin to your roster and feel free to start him ROS.
