Tyler Black is a fantasy baseball waiver wire stash for Week 8 (2024). Target Tyler Black as a top prospect free-agent waiver wire pickup for fantasy baseball.
BALLER MOVE: Stash in Deeper Leagues/ NL-Only
CALL-UP ETA: July
ANALYSIS: Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect Tyler Black was promoted to the major league roster earlier this season but was recently sent back down to Triple-A. However, Black has been performing well in the minors and should return to the major league roster fairly soon.
Black's performance in Triple-A this season has been nothing short of impressive. In 28 games, the 23-year-old has maintained a .312 batting average, a .398 on-base percentage, and a .523 slugging percentage. He has also hit five home runs, stolen four bases, and maintained a 14:18 BB:K ratio.
In his small sample of seven games at the major leagues, he held his own with a .227/.261/.318 with no home runs and two stolen bases.

Black primarily plays first base at Triple-A Nashville, but at the major league level, Rhys Hoskins will continue to serve as the primary option for the position. Instead, Black could work out a role as a designated hitter on the strong side of a platoon with Gray Sanchez.
The number four prospect in the Milwaukee system is worth rostering in NL-only formats and deeper mixed leagues for now.
