Tua Tagovailoa (QB, MIA) - Fantasy Football Week 8 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: It has to be hard to be in Tua Tagovailoa's shoes these days. The poor sophomore out of Bama is on the rumor mill every single day, and the whispers are growing louder about a potential trade away from Miami (most probably to Houston in exchange for still-unavailable Deshaun Watson). No matter what, though, Tua is performing to fantasy-viable levels, and he's put together a couple of back-to-back QB1 games since returning from injury in Week 6.

Tua was forced out of Miami's second game of the season just four snaps into it. Jacoby Brissett took the reins of the offense, but the minute Tua could come back in Week 6 the vet surrendered the starting gig to Tagovailoa. Tua then proceeded to kill. He put up 22.4 FP in Week 6 and followed that up last Sunday with a score of 28.5 FP against the Falcons. He has completed 33 and 32 passes in those last two matches, thrown the rock for 291+ yards at least in each of them, and scored 6 total touchdowns in the last two weeks against three interceptions.

While Tua hasn't really played that well in the real world of football, and concerns about his game seem to be perenially out there, the truth is that Tua has a QB20, QB9, and QB1 (pending MNF) finishes in the three games he's started and completed this season with the Fins. That's far from bad, and more than a reasonable fact to roster and start Tua weekly in virtually all deeper/Superflex leagues, even some shallower ones if you push it. Tua's rushing has come back too (although on the low volume/production side of things) as he's rushed for 51 yards in the past two games, and his completion rate of 70% and 80% while attempting 47 and 40 passes respectively since coming back is sublime. Don't hesitate and grab some shares before the rostership gets past that feared 50-percent mark.
