BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues / NL-Only Leagues
ANALYSIS: With the Cubs clearly in rebuilding mode, they have been trotting out many of their minor leaguers that need to get a cup of coffee in The Big Show, and Tsuyoshi Wada has been one of the beneficiaries of that. Not really doing anything to stay toiling in the minors (with his second MLB team), Wada had struck out more than a batter per inning during his 2014 minor league campaign, surely earning him a much deserved promotion.
Wada has been pretty successful thus far since being called up, posting 4 wins, a 2.56 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, all the while holding opponents to a .220 batting average, and his made his way onto our waiver wire sleepers list. But realistically, you cannot expect this kind of production to continue forever in the hitter friendly confines of Wrigley Field. Also keep in mind that Wada is no spring chicken, so at the ripe old age of 33, you are pretty much seeing his talent ceiling being maxed out. With that being said, he is a steady arm who can provide a boost as an injury stop gap or just a streamer in a good matchup, so add him for the home stretch if you are in any need of starting pitching help - you may be pleasantly surprised at how he performs.
