ANALYSIS: Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon could see a significant workload in Week 5 after lead back Jonathan Taylor suffered an high-ankle sprain in Week 4. Taylor had his foot pinned under his body and it bent awkwardly sideways as he was being tackled to the ground.
Jonathan Taylor had never been hurt, had never even missed a practice dating back to high school. Until he sprained right ankle in December of 2022 and needed surgery.

There have been confusing reports about his injury, so it's unclear if he will miss time, but typically running backs miss at least one week and often more with high-ankle sprains. It's likely Sermon will be the Colts' lead back in Week 5.
While the projected volume makes him an interesting starter, and the Colts' opponent, the Jacksonville Jaguars, has a terrible defense, Sermon has never been a very good running back and it's hard to trust him in fantasy lineups. Many leagues are very barren at running back, though.
Target him as an add in deeper leagues or as a handcuff if Taylor is on your team.
