The 2024 NFL Draft class had several elite wide receivers, including Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze. By comparison, the running-back class lacked an elite prospect.
However, there were several talented running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft class, headlined by Jonathon Brooks. Yet, Trey Benson and Blake Corum have a chance to be outstanding as rookies.
Which rookie running back should fantasy players draft in 2024 redraft leagues? Let’s dive into it.

Trey Benson 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Benson had a productive college career. He rushed for over 900 yards and nine touchdowns in his final two years at Florida State. The talented running back had a limited role in the passing game, totaling 20 receptions for 227 receiving yards and a touchdown in his final college season. Yet, Benson flashed upside as a pass-catcher.
The former Florida State star could have an immediate fantasy impact with the Arizona Cardinals. James Conner has been an RB2 or better for most of his career. However, the veteran consistently misses time with injuries, including eight games over the past two seasons. Some believe Benson could have significant fantasy upside as a rookie because of his situation.

Blake Corum 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Corum nearly declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. However, he returned to school for one more year. The former Michigan star had over 1,240 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns in each of his last two college seasons. While he had a limited role in the passing game, many believed Corum was the best pure rusher in the 2024 NFL Draft class.
The Michigan product saw his fantasy value take a hit after the Los Angeles Rams drafted him. Kyren Williams is coming off a breakout season, leaving some to wonder what Corum’s role would be, especially as a rookie. Unfortunately, Williams has missed time this offseason because of a foot issue, creating an opportunity for Corum to shine.

Which Fantasy Football Rookie Running Back Should I Draft?
Both rookie running backs are in a similar situation. They were third-round picks during the 2024 NFL Draft after productive college careers. More importantly, both players have a proven veteran ahead of them on the depth chart.
While fantasy players should be happy drafting either running back at their ADP, Benson offers more upside and should get drafted first. Conner is an aging veteran and has struggled to stay healthy in his career. No one should be surprised if Benson takes the starting role from the veteran at some point this season.
