BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 8% of Fleaflicker Leagues
ANALYSIS: The Twin cities are rocking these days and the success of their beloved Twins has come in the form of their young pitching staff. Trevor May has become a bonafide treasure as he has taken several positive strides forward in his first full season with the Twins. His 50:9 K/BB ratio has been nothing short of impressive and should continue to grow as his command becomes even more refined.
Trevor May has started nine games this season and has already dwarfed his stats from his short 10-game tenure with the team in 2014. His WHIP is down from a high 1.78 to a respectable 1.36 which draws a closer comparison to his dominant minor league numbers in that particular category. The quality starts will come more often as he settles in. He has not thrown more than 104 pitches in any one game this year and has only walked more than one batter in two games this season.
May's next hurdle is going to be analyzing his own failures and successes and study how he can improve game by game. Since his May 16th start vs Tampa Bay, May has this quality start stat line as his average -- 6 IP, 5H, 3R, 6K. He had previously had only gotten to the 6th inning once before May 16th.
Something has obviously clicked for May and the Twins have seen themselves climb up the standings in part to May's success. Good pitchers on winning teams are adds you can depend on for your fantasy team unless the pitcher's arsenal isn't that good. Not to worry as May is proving why he should be a must own right now. At only 8% owned people must still be down on the potential for the Twins to keep up their winning ways for the whole season given their stacked minor league system ready to bring the team into the more immediate future. Trevor May smells like money and right now you can add him for pennies on the dollar.
