Coming out of high school, Trevor Lawrence was regarded as one of the greatest QB prospects of all time, and the hype for him only intensified after three great seasons at Clemson. Picked first overall by the Jaguars, he had a tough rookie year, but made the Pro Bowl in his second year and even won a playoff game.
He was viewed as a top-6 fantasy football dynasty QB in the summer of 2023, but his value has taken a nosedive since then due to injuries and inconsistent performances. However, the Jags have made some solid moves this year and are banking on Lawrence to finally have an MVP-caliber season to catapult them to contention.
Should you be buying, selling, or holding Lawrence this offseason? Let's dive in.

Trevor Lawrence 2024 Season Review
Lawrence and the Jags entered the 2024 season under lots of pressure. After winning six of their last seven games to make the playoffs in 2022, they did the complete opposite in 2023, going 1-5 in their last six to miss the playoffs despite an 8-3 start.

Lawrence signed a then-NFL-record five-year, $275 million contract extension in the summer of 2024, but GM Trent Baalke didn't do a good job improving the defense. The offensive line was overlooked, too, and the team collapsed to start the season.
The Jags went 0-4 in their first four outings, and Lawrence had mediocre numbers of 729 yards, four touchdowns, one interception, and a 78.9 passer rating. He was the fantasy football QB21 during that stretch, behind the likes of Daniel Jones and Deshaun Watson.
Lawrence's play improved tremendously as he turned 25 years old. He led the team to its first win of the season on his birthday and threw for 1,106 yards and seven touchdowns in his next four games. He threw three picks, went 2-2, and had a great passer rating of 109.0. He was the fantasy QB10 in that four-game span.
The Jags had a 2-6 record, just like how they started the 2022 season. Lawrence looked ready to lead the team to another huge midseason turnaround but suffered an AC joint sprain after a terrible performance against the Eagles in Week 9.
He had previously suffered the same injury in the 2023 season and was forced to miss a game. But this time, his injury was more serious, as he missed two games. Mac Jones went 0-2 in his place, effectively ending Jacksonville's season.
Lawrence returned to the team to face the Texans after their bye week but suffered a concussion and was later placed on injured reserve. He was done for the year.
Despite a very slow start, it looked like things were beginning to turn around at the midway point. Unfortunately, his season was derailed by injuries for the second consecutive year.
What is Trevor Lawrence Worth in Fantasy Football Dynasty Leagues?
According to KeepTradeCut's crowdsourced rankings, Lawrence is currently valued as the dynasty QB17. He's placed just behind J.J. McCarthy and Baker Mayfield and just ahead of Michael Penix Jr. and Cam Ward.

Because he's coming off two disappointing seasons, this is a fair evaluation. There are a lot of big names ahead of him, so Lawrence will have to finally have that MVP-level season that we've been waiting for him to have if he wants to get back in the top six.
Just like last year, we're seeing some fantasy managers trade Lawrence along with picks and/or star players for QBs like Patrick Mahomes or players like Jaylen Waddle.
While many think Lawrence will never be as good as Mahomes, if we're strictly talking about fantasy football, there isn't a huge difference between the two, mainly due to Mahomes' relative decline over the last two seasons.
Lawrence is younger and now has a much more offensively creative coaching staff, so keeping Lawrence and your picks is the smarter move.
Trevor Lawrence 2025 Fantasy Football Outlook
After firing head coach Doug Pederson, the Jaguars went after Buccaneers OC Liam Coen. Coen initially rejected Jacksonville's offer and agreed to stay in Tampa Bay, but reconsidered once it parted ways with GM Trent Baalke.
The Jacksonville Jaguars are one of my favorite bounce-back/surprise teams in 2025:
• New HC — Liam Coen (A+)
• New GM — James Gladstone (A+)
• Trevor Lawrence returns from injury
• 10 (!) one-score losses in 2024
• 2nd in total draft capital
• $38.5 million in cap space pic.twitter.com/Pfwko94hBl— SCOUTD (@scoutdnfl) February 24, 2025
He eventually decided to back out of his Bucs deal to become the 10th head coach in Jaguars history. What Coen managed to accomplish in his only year as Bucs OC cannot be overlooked.
Despite making the playoffs, the 2023 Buccaneers were 20th in yards per drive and 17th in points per drive under OC Dave Canales. The Bucs ranked third and fifth, respectively, in those categories under Coen.
However, we must not forget about all the weapons Coen had at his disposal in Tampa Bay. He had Baker Mayfield, Bucky Irving, Rachaad White, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and a good offensive line to work with.
He has two solid RBs in Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne Jr. and a young superstar WR in Brian Thomas Jr., but things don't get much better after that.
New Jags GM James Gladstone focused on adding some offensive line and defensive depth to the team in free agency, and while this is a good start, the team desperately needs more defensive help and more stars on offense after the departures of Christian Kirk and Evan Engram.
The Jags will have to rely on the draft to fill those holes, meaning Lawrence will have to work with a very young roster in 2025. This has some upsides and downsides, and we'll probably see Lawrence targeting Thomas for most of the year. Unlike Josh Allen, Lawrence isn't a dual-threat QB, so he cannot rack up monster fantasy numbers with little receiving help.
The best-case scenario for Lawrence in 2025 would be a 2024 Sam Darnold-type season, with Thomas as his Justin Jefferson and a young drafted WR as his Jordan Addison. A lot of things would have to go right for that to happen, though.
But even if it doesn't, you shouldn't panic. Lawrence's value is at an all-time low, and the team is committed to him, as shown by his massive contract. He will grow alongside a young core, and the team will inevitably add more weapons in the rebuilding process.
If you already have Lawrence on your dynasty fantasy football team, keeping him would be the smartest choice, as he still has lots of upside and can put up solid numbers when healthy.
