The 2024 fantasy football season is still a few months away. However, it’s never too early to prepare for your fantasy football drafts.
Fantasy players love running backs who have a featured role. While Christian McCaffrey, Breece Hall, and Bijan Robinson will have featured roles in 2024, they will be first-round fantasy picks. However, there are other potential featured running backs who fantasy players can draft in the second round.
Travis Etienne Jr., Kyren Williams, and Rachaad White had featured roles in 2023. Which running back will have a featured role again this season? Let’s dive into their outlooks.

Travis Etienne Jr. 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Last year, Etienne was the RB3, averaging 14.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The superstar running back had 267 rushing attempts for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also had 58 receptions on 73 targets for 476 receiving yards and a touchdown last season.

Unfortunately, Etienne wore down during the second half of the year. The Jacksonville Jaguars want to lighten his workload in 2024 by giving more work to Tank Bigsby and D'Ernest Johnson. However, the former Clemson star should receive the bulk of the backfield workload.
Kyren Williams 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Williams was a massive breakout player in 2023. He was the RB6, averaging 19.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game, totaling 228 rushing attempts for 1,144 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games. The young running back also had 32 receptions on 48 targets for 206 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

While Williams was outstanding last year, the Los Angeles Rams used a third-round pick in the NFL Draft on Blake Corum. The Rams must be worried about Williams’ health after suffering multiple lower-body injuries in his short NFL career.
Rachaad White 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Many had high hopes for White last season after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers moved on from Leonard Fournette. He was the RB7, averaging 13.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. The former Arizona State star had 272 rushing attempts for 990 yards and six touchdowns. Meanwhile, his impact in the passing game was significant, totaling 64 receptions on 70 targets for 549 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 17 games.

The Buccaneers added Bucky Irving during the NFL Draft, using a fourth-round pick on the former Oregon star. Yet, White should remain the lead back for the team. However, Irving is more of a pass-catching specialist, which could hurt the veteran’s fantasy value.
Who Should I Draft in Fantasy Football?
All three running backs are top-10 guys and outstanding fantasy football draft picks this year. However, I would draft Etienne first, Williams second, and White third. Etienne has the least amount of competition for touches. Furthermore, he is the most explosive running back of the trio and should have a massive role for the Jacksonville offense in 2024.
