ANALYSIS: Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. was a polarizing draft pick this year. However, the star running back has been outstanding for fantasy players. He is the RB3 for the season, averaging 15.8 half-point PPR fantasy points per game.
Etienne has been the featured running back for the Jaguars. He has 194 rushing attempts for 726 yards and seven touchdowns. Furthermore, the star running back has 36 receptions for 312 receiving yards and a touchdown this year.
More importantly, the third-year running back is in a slump. After scoring 21 or more fantasy points in four consecutive games heading into the bye week, Etienne has scored 23.4 total fantasy points in the three games since the bye. He also hasn’t found the end zone since Week 8.
Yet, the former Clemson star should bounce back tomorrow night against the Cincinnati Bengals. The AFC North team has surrendered 19.7 fantasy points per game to running backs this season, slightly above the league average. However, they’ve given up 131.3 rushing yards, 1.3 touchdowns, and 23.9 fantasy points per game to running backs over the past three weeks.
