Week 9 provided a historic performance from Houston Texans rookie C.J. Stroud. Stroud threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns. Outside of him and Dak Prescott (374 yards and three touchdowns), there wasn’t much production from the quarterback position. We also may have lost another starting quarterback (Daniel Jones) to a season-ending injury.
In this article, I will be focusing on players under 65% rostered in fantasy leagues while adding a couple of deep sleepers for two-quarterback leagues (less than 25% rostered).
Let’s look at who you should consider picking up for Week 10 below.

Single-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes
Sam Howell, Washington Commanders
Yahoo: 62% rostered
Sam Howell continues to put up ridiculous passing volume every week. Howell completed 29 of 45 passes for 325 yards and a touchdown with an interception against the Patriots in a Week 9 victory.
Washington seems unconcerned with Howell’s turnovers or his tendency to take sacks (he was sacked three more times against the Patriots), which is excellent news for fantasy managers. Howell now has at least 40 pass attempts in five of his last six games. He’s got three straight games with double-digit rushing totals and back-to-back games with 300+ passing yards.
The second-year quarterback won’t be in this article much longer, so make sure to grab him with bye weeks in full swing.
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Yahoo: 48% rostered
Baker Mayfield is starting to get comfortable with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The veteran quarterback is up to 1,600 passing yards and 10 touchdowns with just four interceptions on the season.
Mayfield has three straight games with at least 18.0 fantasy points and has thrown for over 230 yards and two touchdowns in each of his last two games. He’s taking full advantage of strong pass blocking from the Buccaneers offensive line to attack defenses downfield with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.
The Buccaneers have an excellent matchup against Tennessee’s pass funnel secondary in Week 10.
Joshua Dobbs, Minnesota Vikings
Yahoo: 16% rostered
Fantasy managers who proactively picked up Joshua Dobbs after he was traded to Minnesota have to be pleased after watching Dobbs’ play after Week 9’s starter Jaren Hall went down with a first-quarter concussion. Dobbs had taken zero snaps during the week with Minnesota, but came into the game in relief and made a massive impact.
Dobbs completed 20 of 30 passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns, including a game-winning throw, against a solid Falcons defense. Dobbs also continued to show his ability as a rusher, carrying the ball seven times for 66 yards and a touchdown.
Dobbs has come alive in recent games with the Cardinals and Vikings. He’s completed 45 of 67 passes for 366 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions while carrying the ball 13 times for 92 yards and two scores.
Dobbs will undoubtedly move forward as the starter with the Vikings and should get Justin Jefferson back in the passing game sooner rather than later. He lacks the ceiling of elite fantasy quarterbacks, but he is a player who can be streamed given his play this season.
Will Levis, Tennessee Titans
Yahoo: 45% rostered
Will Levis couldn’t replicate his massive opening performance against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 9. The 2023 second-round rookie scored just 8.6 fantasy points thanks to 262 passing yards and one interception in Thursday night’s loss.
Still, there were some very excellent throws from the rookie in his second career start. There is some risk in throwing a lot of FAAB on Levis since head coach Mike Vrabel wouldn’t commit to a starter beyond Week 9, but if he wins the job, he’s shown he could provide a massive ceiling down the stretch.
Two-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes
Bryce Young, Carolina Panthers
Yahoo: 17% rostered
Bryce Young regressed against the Colts in Week 9 after having arguably his best game as a professional quarterback against Houston in Week 8. Young completed just 24 of 39 of his passes for 173 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions (two of which were returned for touchdowns).
It is hard to trust the rookie in fantasy, but Week 10 is one of those times where bye week and injury desperation could force fantasy managers to give him a shot. Young will have a short week to prepare for a fantastic matchup against a Bears defense that is allowing 18.8 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks.
Taylor Heinicke, Atlanta Falcons
Yahoo: 11% rostered
It wasn’t flashy, but Taylor Heinicke put together a solid first start with the Atlanta Falcons. Heinicke completed 21 of 38 passes for 268 yards and one touchdown with one interception while adding three carries for 20 yards despite missing Drake London at receiver.
The Falcons ultimately lost to Minnesota due to a last-second touchdown, but there is no reason to believe that Atlanta will turn back to Desmond Ridder. Heinicke has a fantastic matchup against the Cardinals, a defense that has allowed 18.0 fantasy points to quarterbacks per game this season.
Aidan O'Connell, Las Vegas Raiders
Yahoo: 5% rostered
If you are desperate, then Aidan O’Connell could prove to be a safe floor play in fantasy leagues.
The Raiders didn’t need the rookie to do anything fantastic in his Week 9 start against the Giants, leading to a modest 209 passing yards with zero touchdowns.
Las Vegas has already named the day-three rookie their starter going forward, meaning he will have value in any two-quarterback leagues with teams cycling through bye weeks leading to the fantasy playoffs. O’Connell has great weapons in Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers in the passing attack, which could lead to some fantasy spike weeks in the right matchup.
