We did it. Not only does the end of Week 14 signify the end of bye weeks in the 2022 NFL season, but for many leagues, it signals the beginning of the fantasy playoffs.
We had some strong quarterback performances in Week 14. Kirk Cousins paced passing, throwing for 425 yards in a losing effort to the Lions. Three other quarterbacks (Trevor Lawrence, Patrick Mahomes, and Jared Goff) threw for over 330 yards. Five quarterbacks (Lawrence, Mahomes, Goff, Geno Smith, and Russell Wilson) finished with three passing scores.
In this article, I will look at the fantasy football waiver wire for quarterback pickups and streamers, focusing on players under 65% rostered in fantasy leagues while adding a couple of deep sleepers for two-quarterback leagues (less than 25% rostered).

Single-QB League Waiver Wire Options
Ryan Tannehill, Tennessee Titans
Yahoo: 33% rostered
Ryan Tannehill continues to be a solid streaming option regardless of the weapons around him in the passing attack. Tannehill posted an 18.76-point game in a loss to the Jaguars, throwing for 254 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. His top three receiving options on the day were Austin Hooper, Robert Woods, and rookie tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo.
The Titans will need to continue to play at a high level to secure another AFC South title and should hopefully get rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks back next week after he missed this game due to a concussion.
Tannehill has scored at least 12.0 points in every game since he returned from injury in Week 10 and gets matchups against the Chargers, Texans, and Cowboys in the fantasy playoffs.
Daniel Jones, New York Giants
Yahoo: 55% rostered
The Giants got blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14, but Daniel Jones put up a respectable fantasy performance against one of the top defenses in the NFL. Jones finished with 169 passing yards and one touchdown with zero interceptions while adding four carries for 26 yards and a rushing score.
Since the Giants' bye, Jones has put together five straight games with at least 14.0 fantasy points. He’s thrown for six touchdowns and two interceptions during that span while adding at least 20 rushing yards in four of his next five games.
The Giants' offense has scuffled lately, but that hasn’t stopped Daniel Jones from becoming a streamable option at quarterback in fantasy. He will have great matchups against the Commanders and Vikings in each of the next two weeks.
Two-QB Waiver Wire Options and Stashes
Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons
Yahoo: 4% rostered
The Falcons didn’t have a game in Week 14, but they were still able to stay relevant in the news when they announced that rookie Desmond Ridder would be taking over the starting quarterback job for the remainder of the season.
Ridder flashed accuracy and mobility in the preseason, which gives him the making of a quarterback that can provide fantasy upside. Add a strong offensive line, a formidable run game, and a couple of solid receiving weapons and he has streaming upside.
Atlanta will have matchups against the Saints, Ravens, and Cardinals from Weeks 15-17, so he isn’t necessarily a slam dunk play, but he does have the necessary components to be fantasy-relevant during his upcoming stretch.
Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers
Yahoo: 9% rostered
Some optimists may have expected Brock Purdy to be able to operate the 49ers' quarterback-friendly offensive system and continue to lead them to the playoffs. However, most were probably skeptical of his ability to be fantasy-relevant heading into the 2022 playoffs. However, we may have to strongly consider the rookie quarterback as a fantasy asset going forward.
Purdy had his second consecutive game with at least 14.0 fantasy points, this time picking apart a Buccaneers defense that had time to prepare for him. Purdy finished the game with 185 passing yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in his first career start.
Purdy will have a tough matchup against the Seattle secondary in Week 15 and will likely be missing Deebo Samuel. However, he will have excellent fantasy matchups against the Commanders and Raiders secondaries in Weeks 16 and 17. That makes him worth considering going forward in fantasy.
