MLB DFS: Chalky Stacks
Baltimore Orioles at Aaron Civale (TB/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 3.5 runs
We tried to attack this exact matchup in last Friday night's article; however, we only managed to muster three runs out of the Orioles offense. We are going right back to it as I always like using an offense after it has recently seen the same pitcher. The Orioles have remained hot vs. right-handed pitchers as they are posting a 144 wRC+ mark over the previous two weeks, which is the best in baseball over that span.
Aaron Civale is still lacking as he has posted a 5.37 ERA and 1.34 WHIP on the season. He has allowed 11 total home runs on the season. He has also allowed a .282 BAA to left-handed hitters. Once he is finished, the Rays will still deploy a bullpen that ranks in the bottom half of baseball in terms of ERA and WHIP.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Ryan O'Hearn Gunnar Henderson, Colton Cowser, Ryan Mountcastle
Houston Astros at Griffin Canning (LAA/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
The Houston Astros will probably be the chalkiest stack of the night, and rightfully so. They are posting a 100 wRC+ over the previous two weeks.
They will be facing Griffin Canning, who has struggled a bit in 2024. He has posted a 4.69 ERA and 1.37 WHIP. Canning has especially struggled against left-handed hitters as they have posted a .302 BAA with a whopping nine home runs. This makes players like Kyle Tucker and Yordan Alvarez very solid plays, but if you want to pay down, look to see if Trey Cabbage is in the lineup as he has posted a .800 OPS in his 15 PA against right-handed pitchers thus far and was recently called up to the big leagues.

Favorite Combo of Hitters: Yordan Alvarez, Kyle Tucker, Yainer Diaz, Trey Cabbage
Toronto Blue Jays at Hogan Harris (OAK/LHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
Toronto has been a bit up and down this season, and it is currently posting a 100 wRC+ mark vs. left-handed pitching over the previous two weeks, which has it ranked in the middle of the pack. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has started to heat up over this span as he has blasted two home runs while posting a .924 OPS. Justin Turner is also showing signs of life as he has collected four hits across his previous two games and is posting a .294 AVG over the previous 14 days.
The Jays will be up against Hogan Harris, who has allowed seven runs over his previous three starts. He has also struggled a bit vs. right-handed hitters as he has allowed a .250 BAA and two home runs across just 42 batters faced.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Davis Schneider, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Justin Turner

MLB DFS: Contrarian Stacks
Miami Marlins vs. Logan Allen (CLE/LHP)
Projected Team Total: 3.5 runs
This is probably the sneakiest stack of the night and is more about Logan Allen than the Marlins offense. Allen has posted a 5.83 ERA and 1.55 WHIP thus far in 2024, and quite frankly, he has not been very good. He has also allowed four or more earned runs in five starts this season and has allowed seven earned runs in two of his previous five starts. He especially struggles against right-handed hitters as he has allowed a .317 BAA and 10 dingers.
While the Marlins have struggled vs. left-handed pitchers, as noted by their 56 wRC+ mark over the previous two weeks, they do have some guys that can take advantage of Allen's inefficiencies. A notable player here would be Jake Burger, who has posted a .818 OPS vs. left-handers since 2022. Bryan De La Cruz is also a guy that has shown power, as noted by his 10 bombs thus far in 2024.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Jake Burger, Bryan De La Cruz, Otto Lopez, Tim Anderson
Kansas City Royals vs. Bryce Miller (SEA/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
The Royals have been solid on offense, especially against right-handed pitchers. Over the previous two weeks, they have posted a 100 wRC+ mark. They have also seen solid production from Vinnie Pasquantino, who has collected eight hits across his previous five games, including two home runs.
They will be up against Bryce Miller, who has been solid; however, he has allowed 11 home runs on the season. Eight of these home runs have come against left-handed hitters. He has also allowed four or more earned runs in three of his previous six starts.
