Welcome, RotoBallers, to a brand-new MLB DFS article for the 2024 season! We will still be bringing you a full slate breakdown every day, but this companion piece is intended to help you determine which offenses you are going to stack in your tournament (GPP) lineups.
I will handle the Friday slates for the rest of the MLB season. Tonight features a handful of chalky stacks with stacking appeal and a few contrarian stacks that can help differentiate your lineup.
This article will provide my favorite hitting stacks for daily fantasy baseball on DraftKings and FanDuel on 6/14/2024. Today's main slate kicks off at 7:05 p.m. EDT on both sites. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for MLB and other sports here. Don't forget to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups!
MLB DFS: Chalky Stacks
New York Yankees at Brayan Bello (BOS/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
The Yankees will always be a chalky stack, but the way they are currently swinging the bat might make them the chalkiest stack of the night. Over the previous two weeks, the Yankees are posting a wRC+ mark of 131 vs. right-handed pitchers, which ranks third best in baseball over that span. Aaron Judge has been especially hot as he has clobbered eight home runs over the previous two weeks. Giancarlo Stanton has also been heating up as he has posted an .834 OPS over the previous two weeks.
The Yankees will be up against Brayan Bello, who has struggled a bit this season, as noted by his 4.78 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. He has also allowed three or more earned runs in five consecutive starts. Once he is finished, the Yankees should be able to take advantage of a Red Sox pen that has posted a lackluster 4.10 ERA over their previous 10 games.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Volpe
Minnesota Twins vs. Mitch Spence (OAK/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
The Twins should be a pretty chalky stack tonight as they square off against Oakland. Over the previous two weeks, Minnesota has posted a 123 wRC+ mark against right-handed pitching, which ranks fifth best in baseball. Royce Lewis has started to heat up since coming off the IL as he has posted a .933 OPS over the previous seven days. A cheap option in this game would be Trevor Larnach, who has hit six home runs and posted a .757 OPS vs. right-handers in 2024.
Opposing the Twins will be Athletics starter Mitch Spence, who has posted a 3.68 ERA on the season, but has allowed six earned runs over his previous 13 innings pitched. Lefties such as Larnach have given him a bit of trouble as well, as noted by his .244 BAA.

Favorite Combo of Hitters: Carlos Correa, Royce Lewis, Trevor Larnach
Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Chris Flexen (CWS/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
Arizona may not seem like a chalky stack, but it should be with this matchup. Over the previous two weeks, the Diamondbacks have posted a 112 wRC+ vs. right-handers, which is good for 10th best in baseball over that span. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. has posted an .882 OPS with three bombs over the previous two weeks, so he will definitely be worth a look here. Ketel Marte has also started to heat back up, as noted by his 1.198 OPS with four dingers over the previous two weeks.
The Diamondbacks will be up against Chris Flexen, who has been quite miserable in 2024. He has posted a 5.06 ERA on the season and has allowed 16 earned runs over his previous 23 1/3 innings pitched. He has also allowed nine total home runs this season. The Diamondbacks should also be able to take advantage of a White Sox pen that has posted the fourth-worst ERA in 2024 at 4.86.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Ketel Marte, Joc Pederson

MLB DFS: Contrarian Stacks
Cleveland Guardians at Kevin Gausman (TOR/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 3.5 runs
The Cleveland Guardians should be a pretty sneaky stack against Kevin Gausman. Although Gausman has the big-name pedigree, he has struggled in 2024, as noted by his 4.00 ERA. He has allowed three or more earned runs in three of his previous six starts and also allowed six earned runs in two of those starts. Left-handed hitters have given him the most trouble, as noted by his .287 BAA.
Meanwhile, the Guardians have posted a 121 wRC+ mark vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks seventh best in baseball over that span. Jose Ramirez remains hot as he has posted a .939 OPS over the previous week. Josh Naylor is also an option worth looking at as he has slugged 13 home runs and posted an .836 OPS off right-handed pitching in 2024.

Favorite Combo of Hitters: Jose Ramirez, Josh Naylor, Andres Gimenez
Atlanta Braves vs. Zack Littell (TB/RHP)
Projected Team Total: 4.5 runs
The Braves would usually fall into the chalk stacks category, but some may be turned off by the fact that they have posted just a 70 wRC+ mark vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks. This is understandable; however, the Braves are always capable of breaking out at any moment and that could be the case at home against Zack Littell.
Littell has given up three or more earned runs in four of his previous five starts. He has also allowed a home run in five consecutive starts. Right-handed hitters have been his kryptonite, as noted by his .292 BAA mark.
Favorite Combo of Hitters: Austin Riley, Marcell Ozuna, Adam Duvall
