Where will running back Najee Harris sign in NFL free agency? Joey dives into the potential landing spots for free agent running back Najee Harris.
With only days away from the tampering period opening up on March 10, several free agents will be on the move this offseason. One of those free agents could be running back Najee Harris. Harris will enter free agency for the first time in his career after the Pittsburgh Steelers declined his fifth-year option.
Harris will now be one of the best available running backs for teams to sign in free agency. He has rushed for 1,000 yards in each of his four NFL seasons and has never missed a game in his career. In addition, the former Pro Bowler will be only 27 years old once the new league year begins.
So, which teams could sign Harris in free agency? What are the top landing spots for him if he leaves Pittsburgh? Let's dive in and find out.

Denver Broncos
There's a strong chance that the Denver Broncos will be in the market for a running back this offseason. Javonte Williams is a free agent, and Denver's running back room ran for only 1,415 yards in 2024. With Williams leading the Broncos with just 513 rush yards this past year, look for them to be in on Harris.
I have bad news guys... I'm kind of in on a Najee Harris to Denver signing. I was a lot more impressed watching his 2024 tape than I expected. pic.twitter.com/zdkkXgMEYP

Harris would immediately make this running room better, considering he has rushed for 4,312 yards and 28 touchdowns over his career. This is also a nice fit for both sides. The former Steeler would remain a starting running back in the league, and Denver would get a physical runner on the ground. With over $40 million to spend in free agency, the Broncos are a possible landing spot for him.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Las Vegas Raiders are going to be aggressive in free agency this offseason. They have a new head coach in Pete Carroll and over $80 million in cap space to spend. Although the Raiders will enter the new league year with plenty of needs, establishing a ground game could be at the top of Carroll's list. So, adding a running back like Harris makes a lot of sense.
Najee Harris’ career so far:
•Never missed a single game
•First RB since 2008 to rush for 1,000 yards in each of his first 4 seasons
•One of just three players since 2021 with 4,000+ rushing yards and 1,100+ receiving yards

The Raiders didn't get much production from their running back group this past season, as Alexander Mattison led the team with just 420 rush yards. Since Las Vegas failed to find a Josh Jacobs replacement last offseason, it would be a shock to see that happen again. Therefore, this is a potential landing spot for Harris.
Los Angeles Chargers
This landing spot could be a match made in heaven for Harris. Assuming the Los Angeles Chargers don't re-sign J.K. Dobbins in free agency, they should be in the market for a running back. That means the running back the Chargers could target once free agency opens is the former Alabama product.

Given how much the Chargers prioritize running the football, they should be in on one of the top available running backs in free agency. Los Angeles ran the ball at the 10th-highest mark in 2024 (44.9%) and rushed for 17 touchdowns as a team a season ago. As a result, this is a possible landing spot for Harris, who is a California native as well.
