Running back Derrick Henry has spent his whole career with the Tennessee Titans after getting drafted by them in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. But the expectation is that Henry will find a new home for the 2024 season.
Despite being 30 years old, Henry still has plenty left in the tank and should have a big market in free agency. He has rushed for over 1,000 yards in five of the past six seasons while scoring double-digit touchdowns in six straight years. The veteran back is also coming off a solid 2023 campaign, where he rushed 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns.
With Henry now set to become a free agent, where could he wind up? What are his best landing spots? Let's dive in and find out where the veteran back could land this offseason.

Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens appear to be the favorite in landing Henry this offseason. Both J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards are free agents, and rookie Keaton Mitchell (knee) is coming off a torn ACL. So, the team could be looking to add a running back in free agency this year. The veteran is a great fit for a team that loves to run the ball.
Baltimore ran the ball at the highest mark last year (49.9%), 5% more than the Titans did in 2023. That means Henry will be utilized in a big way if he were to join the Ravens, which is something he likely still wants.

On top of that, the four-time Pro Bowler has expressed interest in playing for a Super Bowl contender in 2024. The Ravens were just one win away from reaching the Super Bowl this past year and adding Henry could make the Baltimore offense even more dangerous.
Dallas Cowboys
Henry wants to play for a Super Bowl contender, and the Dallas Cowboys certainly fall under that category. Despite coming up short during the 2023 season, Dallas is expected to be a strong team again next year. Owner Jerry Jones has also stated that the team will be going "all-in" in 2024. That could result in Dallas signing Henry this upcoming season.
With Tony Pollard set to become a free agent, the running back position is an area of need for the Cowboys. Head coach Mike McCarthy has emphasized running the ball efficiently since he took over play-calling duties, so what better way to do that than by signing Henry?

Dallas will surely need to clear some space this offseason if they were to sign the veteran back since they are roughly -$19 million over the cap, per Over the Cap. But it could make sense for the Cowboys to go after Henry with both sides having championship aspirations.
Houston Texans
This one is a little more out there. However, it makes so much sense if Henry were to sign with the Houston Texans. For starters, they are an up-and-coming team that just made the Divisional Round with a rookie quarterback. Houston also has the money to spend on a running back this offseason.
The Texans have roughly $57 million in cap space, per Over the Cap, which is the seventh-most entering free agency. Running back Devin Singletary will also be a free agent after a strong 2023 campaign.
As a result, there's nothing stopping the Texans from spending big money on a running back in 2024. Dameon Pierce is the only active back on the roster, and he struggled mightily in his second season. Henry would be a good fit in Houston, especially for a team looking to take another leap next year.
