Welcome to Week 2 of the fantasy baseball season, covering April 1 through April 7. Some fantasy leagues might lump in the first half week of games with this week and call it "Week One" but for our intents and purposes, we are calling it Week 2, while still acknowledging that is indeed the first full week of games on the schedule.
Our hitter streamers fantasy baseball waiver wire pickups column will identify hitters with good matchups and can be considered waiver wire streamers ahead of the Sunday night waiver wire runs for leagues with weekly transactions.
In this piece, every week I'll look to find hitters playing in most games and who have the most favorable matchups to help you plug those gaps and fill those holes in your roster. You can also check out the rest of our fantasy baseball streamer content here at RotoBaller.

Week 2 Fantasy Baseball Hitter Streamers
I'll recommend only players that are 40% rostered or lower and all roster percentages are from Yahoo!
Brandon Lowe, 2B - Tampa Bay Rays (41% )
Lowe is still getting benched against lefties but with the Rays heading to Coors later this week, he's going to be an attractive option. He's already belted one home run in his first eight at-bats and has more power than most middle-infielders when it comes to hitting the long ball.
Jose Siri, OF - Tampa Bay Rays (34% )
Siri was a popular sleeper during draft season thanks to his power/speed combo. He's likely to bounce on and off rosters this year due to his streaky hitting, but he's already proven very valuable in 2024 thanks to three successful stolen base attempts.
Jose Siri already with three steals.
He wasn't lying when he said he was stealing 30 this year.
— Frank Ammirante (@FAmmiranteTFJ) March 30, 2024
He went on record this offseason saying he was going to run more, and if that's the case, he's going to have some appeal as a player to pick up and hold for longer than perhaps just this week. With Tampa heading to Coors Field on Friday, maybe Siri is set up to get his first home run of the season, too.
Will Benson, OF - Cincinnati Reds (26%)
Benson has been hitting up in the two-hole so far for the Reds, which could be a great thing for his fantasy value and could reflect his manager's confidence in him. He's 2-7 to start the year with two doubles and has excellent speed so we should expect some stolen bases here sooner than later as well.
The Reds have to go to Philly this week but then come home to face the Mets. The weekend series against New York could be a boon to the Cincy bats as the Mets look like they'll have one of the weaker starting pitching staffs in the National League.
Jake Fraley, OF - Cincinnati Reds (25%)
Fraley has started just one of two games for the Reds so far as he was benched against left-handed starter Patrick Corbin. He was 2-4 on opening day, however, and swiped a base. When he's in the lineup, he is going to be hitting in the middle of the order and should have plenty of RBI opportunities with a solid group of young hitters around him.

With three of their six games this week at home in one of the most hitter-friendly parks in baseball, the Reds should be firmly on your radar for streaming.
Zach Neto, SS - L.A. Angels (21%)
Neto is without a hit through his first two games, but the Angels have run into a buzzsaw in Baltimore as they've had to face Corbin Burnes and Grayson Rodriguez so far. Neto hit everything he saw this Spring (.33 AVG) and should bounce back this week as the Angels face Miami (who have a starting rotation with four LHP) and Boston. Neto should be a decent source of steals, too, he swiped four bags this Spring and will run when he has the chance.
Michael Busch, 3B - Chicago Cubs (14%)
The 26-year-old Busch was another player you may have seen this offseason called a "sleeper" by some analysts. He's just 1-5 through his first two games, but he showed off some solid power this Spring and it looks like he's going to be the everyday third baseman for Chicago. The Cubs start off this week against the Rockies at home and Colorado has one of the worst rotations in baseball, so I expect Busch and the rest of the Cubbies to get right in that series after a tough draw in Texas for their opening series.
Deep League Hitter Streamers to Consider
- Cavan Biggio, 1B, 2B, 3B, OF - Toronto Blue Jays (9%)
- Nick Martini, OF - Cincinnati Reds (7%)
- J.D. Davis, 1B, 3B - Oakland Athletics (4%)
- Joc Pederson, OF - Arizona Diamondbacks (4%)
Good luck this week and choose those streaming options wisely!
