Jay breaks down the New York Yankees Top 5 Prospects of 2024. Get to know the next generation of Yankees stars, including Jasson Domínguez, Spencer Jones, Chase Hampton, Will Warren, and Everson Pereira.
The New York Yankees’ farm system is bursting at the seams with exciting young talent and is regarded as a top-10 system in most baseball circles.
The Yankees have multiple players waiting in the wings to impact both major league and fantasy rosters.
Here’s a rundown on these future stars and what they bring to the table for fantasy baseball fans.
Jasson Domínguez - OF
Anyone who follows baseball knows an alien invasion in the Bronx is imminent. On his battle back from Tommy John surgery in 2023, the Yankees 21-year-old center fielder and top prospect, Jasson Domínguez, is showing no signs of rust in the minors. Over 12 games between A and Double-A, Domínguez is batting .348 with three home runs and an absurd .977 OPS (On Base + Slugging).
As he showed last year during his brief cup of coffee with the major league squad (four HRs in eight games) before the injury, Domínguez is more than ready to help the Yankees compete for the American League East title this year, unfortunately, at this moment however, his path to playing time is blocked by the likes of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, Alex Verdugo, and Giancarlo Stanton. Domínguez will have his time to shine in 2024 but at this point, it’s just a matter of when.
The @Yankees could get used to this.

Aaron Boone and fantasy managers alike are salivating at the idea of a Soto/Judge/Domínguez middle of the order. Currently owned in 30% of Yahoo leagues and only 9% of ESPN leagues, Domínguez is a must-stash, five-tool, fantasy beast.
Spencer Jones – OF
Spencer Jones, the Yankees #2 prospect, is a 6’6 powerhouse with a bat to match his towering presence. Selected in the first round of the 2022 draft (25th overall), Jones was a former two-way player before transitioning to a full-time hitter. Jones possesses incredible raw power and above-average speed but with the previously mentioned crowded Yankees outfield and coming off a rough May (.170 avg/one HR), the Yankees are in no hurry to rush him to the show.
Jones is sitting comfortably in the Top 100 prospect list, 68th overall per mlb.com and we expect to see him at the major league level sometime in 2025, however owners in Dynasty and Keeper leagues should already be strategizing on adding him to their rosters.
Chase Hampton – RHP
The Yankees' top pitching prospect, Chase Hampton, lit up the minor leagues in 2023 with 145 strikeouts in 106.2 innings between Hudson Valley and Somerset. The 22-year-old right-hander is still waiting to make his minor league debut in 2024, Hampton was put on the 60-day IL on May 5 with a strained right UCL but had recently begun throwing, giving hope to a potential late-season call-up. Hampton throws four above-average pitches with a fastball that tops out around 97 mph and when given the opportunity, many believe he will be a solid, middle-of-the-rotation starter.
Chase Hampton was moved to the 60-day IL yesterday. It was more of a formality, Aaron Boone said. He has begun throwing.

Will Warren – RHP
While the Yankees have a couple of hitters who may rank higher in their minor league system, their #7 prospect, righty Will Warren, is one of the closest to being major league ready. Warren was in a heated competition this spring before losing out on a rotation spot to starter Luis Gil to begin the season. It seems the Yankees made the correct decision choosing Gil, who is currently sporting a pristine 1.99 ERA while riding a streak of six wins and quality starts over his last six outings.
Warren held his own in the minors in April going 3-0 with a 3.95 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, May however, has been a completely different story, struggling to a 15.88 ERA and allowing 30 earned runs in 17 innings. With pitcher Chase Hampton still not on a rehab assignment and the chance and the ever-looming presence of starting pitcher injuries, Warren looks like the next man to get the call but the Yankees would most likely want to give him more time to regroup in Scranton.

Everson Pereira – OF
After a brief 27-game stint at the end of the last year with the Yankees, outfielder Everson Pereira had some work to do. Making his debut in August of 2023, the 23-year-old prospect (22 at the time of debut) floundered a bit after making the jump to the pros but seems to have regained his confidence with the Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, currently hitting .265 with ten HRs and five stolen bases in 40 games so far this year.
Outfield jobs in Yankee Stadium are in high demand at the moment and with Jasson Domínguez looking to be the next one up, Pereira’s future looks more likely as trade bait than a starter.
