MLB DFS Prop Picks for 4/10/23
Sandy Alcantara more than 6.5 strikeouts
This could be a tad dicey, so you may want to see if the number drops to 6.0, but the matchup is solid for Sandy today. The Phillies have posted a 28.1% K rate vs. right-handed pitchers to begin the season, which is ranked worst in the league. Sandy has been known to rack up strikeouts from time to time, along with posting 207 strikeouts a season ago.
Steven Matz more than 4.5 strikeouts
This might be my favorite play on the board. Matz had a solid first outing in which he struck out seven Braves on April 4. Now, he gets a matchup against the free-swinging Rockies. Colorado has posted a paltry 28.3% K rate vs. Southpaws over their first 92 plate appearances. They are also posting just a 5.4% walk rate and a 67 wRC+ mark, so Matz could get some distance out of this one as well.
Andrew Heaney more than 6.5 strikeouts
Andrew Heaney let me down last week when he managed to strike out just two Orioles while getting lit up for seven runs over 2 2/3 innings pitched. He certainly has the stuff to get it done here as he posted a 13.62 K/9 just a season ago. The matchup tonight is a solid one on paper as well as he will be up against a Royals team that is posting a 31.4% K rate vs. lefties over their first 70 plate appearances. It ranks third-worst in the league.
Mike Trout more than 9.5 fantasy score
To be honest, you can opt to play Mike Trout's fantasy score or total base prop over 1.5 in this post. He has been on an absolute tear over the previous seven days by posting a 1.409 OPS with three home runs, nine RBIs, and eight walks (hence the fantasy score option). He will be up against the trainwreck that is Patrick Corbin, who has posted a 3.14 BAA and allowed 61 home runs to right-handed hitters since 2021.
