NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 5/10/22
Yesterday’s matches were highlighted by Pittsburgh’s dominance over the Rangers. At the time of writing, the Predators have also managed to battle back and tie the game with the Avalanche. Tonight anything can happen with each series tied and each series going back to the top seed’s territory. I will do my best in guiding you through this four-game slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 7:00 p.m. EST.

NHL DFS Goalies
Mike Smith- DK $8.5K || FD $8.2K
Opponent - Los Angeles Kings
As expected the Kings turned up their efforts in the last game, blanking the Oilers 4-0. Now the series heads back to Edmonton where the Oilers have looked better – the home crowd always helps –. Smith also managed a shutout in the last game at home. If the hosts can find their skates early on, Smith is in store for another great performance.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Raanta (DK $8.2K || FD $7.6K), Vasilevskiy (DK $7.8K || FD $8.4K)
NHL DFS Centers
Ryan Hartman-DK $5K || FD $6.1K
Opponent - St. Louis Blues
The Wild have been caught in quite the rollercoaster of form through the first four games of the series. However, if there is one consistency, it is top-line pivot Ryan Hartman. The center has posted 5 assists and 8 shots through that time frame. After not playing a major part in points during the regular season, Hartman has turned up his form immensely and we could see it continue here.
Vincent Trocheck- DK $3.6K || FD $4.7K
Opponent - Boston Bruins
Trocheck was held off the score sheet last game and the score showed with the Hurricanes losing 5-2. They now come home, hoping to unleash the power of a thousand hurricanes and it will be centered around the second-line. Boston's top-line has been doing very well shutting down Sebastian Aho, leaving Vincent Trocheck as the lone survivor.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Matthews (DK $9.2K || FD $10.2K), McDavid (DK $8.8K || FD $9.9K), Danault (DK $4.9K || FD $5.3K), Gaudreau (DK $3.2K || FD $4.3K), Staal (DK $2.9K || FD $4.5K)
NHL DFS Wings
David Pastrnak- DK $7.4K || FD $8.8K
Opponent - Tampa Bay Lightning
The Bruins finally made the “no-brainer” lineup change, moving Pasta back to the top line. The winger instantly saw an uptick in production and so did the Bruins, winning both games and outsourcing the Hurricanes 9-4. In those two matches, Pastrnak produced 2 goals, 2 assists and 11 shots. If the Bruins want to make it out of the first round, they will need him to continue to produce those numbers.
Jesse Puljujarvi- DK $3.5K || FD $4.5K
Opponent - Los Angeles Kings
Puljujarvi is finally starting to gain form. The winger has 1 goal, 1 assist and 7 shots in his last four games. Linemate and winger Evander Kane has been playing even better which will take the majority of ownership off Puljujarvi. All you need is a shot or two and at best a puck bounce in your favor to hit value.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Kucherov (DK $7.6K || FD $9.5K), Kane (DK $6.7K || FD $6.9K), Perron (DK $5.3K || FD $6.2K), Zuccarello (DK $4.9K || FD $6.5K), Kerfoot (DK $2.7K || FD $4K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Colton Parayko- DK $4.2K || FD $4.2K
Opponent - Minnesota Wild
Parayko once again gets the shoutout, after going off last game – hopefully you read the article and played him –. The blueline looks like it will remain decimated, leaving Parayko the man to run it all again. In the first game running the top power-play and pairing, he posted 1 assist, 3 shots and 4 blocked shots. The shots and blocked shots are enough to warrant his play due to his high peripheral count and any point production is an added bonus.
Matt Grzelcyk- DK $2.9K || FD $3.8K
Opponent - Carolina Hurricanes
Value play? Check. Top-pairing? Check. Top power-play? Check. Grzelcyk checks all of our boxes off tonight and he saves us enormous amounts of salary while doing so. Teammate Charlie McAvoy has been ruled out due to COVID protocols and Hampus Lindholm is questionable to return. This leaves Grzelcyk in a similar situation as mentioned above with Colton Parayko. In a tightly-contested series with the peripheral-happy Hurricanes, this is a perfect matchup.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Hedman (DK $7K || FD $7.3K), Bouchard (DK $5K || FD $4.7K), Slavin (DK $4.7K || FD $5K), Spurgeon (DK $4.3K || FD $4.8K), Edler (DK $3.8K || FD $4K)
