NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 3/29/22
Yesterday was a typical Monday with the majority of the “cash” hitting and then one or two unexpected outcomes. Tonight should not be much different with multiple favored teams and a few pickems and I will do my best in guiding you through this nine-game slate on DraftKings starting at 7:00 p.m. EST respectively.
There is only one team playing the second-half of a back-to-back, Carolina. The Canadiens and their league second-worst 3.67 GA will travel to the Panthers, while the Avalanche and their league second-best 3.75 GF will hope to cool the high-flying Flames.

NHL DFS Goalies
Jake Oettinger - DK $8.1K || FD $7.4K
Opponent - Anaheim Ducks
There are multiple options on the slate tonight. However, Oettinger has the option to provide some of the best value in his position. The Ducks are struggling for goals and the Stars are playing for a postseason. Over their last five games, they have scored just 1.8 goals per game. The Stars have not been solid defensively either since Miro Heiskanen's season-ending injury. Although, this matchup gives them the chance to bounce back.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Bobrovsky(DK $8.5K || FD $8.5K), Fleury(DK $8.4K || FD $8.3K, Saros(DK $8.3K || FD $7.9K), Varlamov(DK $7.9K || FD $7.8K)
NHL DFS Centers
Brock Nelson - DK $6.3K || FD $6.7K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
Nelson is unstoppable and the true force of the Islanders. The pivot is on the verge of breaking all of his point records and he has four goals, three assists and 13 shots. The Jackets have one of the worst defenses in the league and the goaltending is shaky at best. This provides a perfect opportunity for Nelson to inch closer to career-highs.
Evgeni Malkin - DK $6.1K || FD $7.5K
Opponent - New York Rangers
This could be considered more of a tournament play unless Rangers Ryan Strome is ultimately held out of this rematch in Pittsburgh. Malkin was not a part of the squad's 5-1 loss to the Rangers last week and he came back to throw together an incredible hat trick against the Red Wings. Malkin is playing with purpose now and Rickard Rakell could craft Malkin into a monster once again. In Geno's last five appearances, he has six goals, two assists and 25 shots.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Barkov(DK $8.6K || FD $9.3K), Bergeron(DK $7.1K || FD $7.1K), Kadri(DK $6.7K || FD $8.6K), Hintz(DK $6.4K || FD $6.9K), Hartman(DK $5.7K || FD $6.5K), Hayes(DK $3.9K || FD $5.1K)
NHL DFS Wings
Claude Giroux - DK $4.9K || FD $6.2K
Opponent - Montreal Canadiens
Does anyone remember this guy, because I surely don’t! All jokes aside, Giroux is still too inexpensive and his salary has not changed since his first donut in a Panthers sweater. Giroux has barely disappointed us even with zero points in his last performance. After all, in his first two games prior he had four assists and nine shots. The best part about it all is he gets to play Montreal again. The same team he debuted against for the Panthers and who he set up two goals against. I have said it before and I will say it again. Giroux will remain in my articles until his price is adjusted correctly and he does not get prime matchups. Ride this while you can!
Filip Forsberg - DK $7.4K || FD $8.3K
Opponent - Ottawa Senators
It is Forsberg Tuesday! Do I have to say anymore? Forsberg has been known throughout the season to dominate on Tuesday and this time we have him in a great matchup against the lowly Senators, who at this point should focus more on tanking than anything else. Forsberg, alongside teammate Roman Josi, are carrying the Predators’ offense and there should be no surprises when they both are on the score sheet tonight. Forsberg has five goals, four assists and 17 shots in his last five games.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): MarchandDK $7K || FD $8.9K), Huberdeau(DK $6.7K || FD $8.8K), Rust(DK $6K || FD $8.7K), Zuccarello(DK $5.6K || FD $7.1K), Lee(DK $4.4K || FD $5.4K), Rakell(DK $3.2K || FD $5.1K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Noah Dobson - DK $6.6K || FD $6.1K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
Although I did just mention Roman Josi in the above player mention, I cannot ignore Noah Dobson in a great matchup and almost $3K salary cheaper on DraftKings. Dobson has not been needed as much offensively since the resurgence of teammates Brock Nelson and Andes Lee. However, that does not take away from Dobson’s ability to still generate peripheral stats. In Dobson’s last five appearances, he has one assist, 11 shots and nine blocked shots. Columbus continues to be a terrible defense who gives up a ton of shots and goals and it sets up perfectly for Dobson to hit value just from his peripherals.
Adam Boqvist - DK $3.8K || FD $4.6K
Opponent - New York Islanders
There are plenty of options to spend up elsewhere besides defense tonight, so we will entertain the other side of the Islanders vs Blue Jackets matchup with Boqvist. Teammate Zach Werenski is potentially out for this meeting which ends up putting Boqvist in the driver seat on defense. In his last five games, he has two goals, one assist, nine shots and three blocked shots. The Islanders can be stingy defensively at times, but if Boqvist gets full reigns, he should hit value no matter what.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Josi(DK $9.2K || FD $7.3K), McAvoy(DK $5.3K || FD $6.4K), Spurgeon(DK $4.7K || FD $5.2K), Ristolainen(DK $3.7K || FD $4.4K), Ekholm(DK $3.3K || FD $4.4K)
