NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 11/17/22
It is a 13-game slate tonight. What that means is there are a lot of intriguing places to go. One cannot cover all of their bases, even with 150 lineups, so on slates like this, you have to take a stand and hope you straight up build a better lineup than most of your competition.

As always, ensure the goalie in your lineup is confirmed before the lineup lock! With several teams on a back-to-back, it is a safe assumption to go with the goalie that did not start the previous night. Everyone else you have to double-check! There is nothing worse than having a great lineup but taking a zero at goalie. This has happened to me before and it stinks!
NHL DFS Goalies
Ville Husso DK $7.6K || FD $8.1K
Opponent - San Jose Sharks
When Husso has a bad game, it's a bad game, but overall he has been having a good season. He has a 5-2-3 record, a 2.56 GAA, and a .918 SV%. He is averaging 15.6 DraftKings points per game and 17.0 FanDuel points per game. San Jose is favored in this game, but I think Detroit is the better team and could easily win this game or have this game go into OT and get decided there. On a big slate like this, I like to try to save money on goalie.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Hellebuyck (DK $8.3K || FD $8.8K), Vasilevskiy (DK $7.7K || FD $7.1K)
NHL DFS Centers
Jack Hughes -DK $7.4K || FD $9.2K
Opponent - Toronto Maple Leafs
Jack Hughes averages 1.13 points per game and 4.38 shots on goal per game. Toronto is likely starting Matt Murray, someone I don't necessarily believe in. New Jersey is playing well and they could easily put up several goals tonight, and Hughes could be a part of that easily.
Nick Suzuki -DK $6.3K || FD $8.5K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
With Joonas Korpisalo potentially starting for Columbus tonight, I'm ready to play some Canadiens on this slate. Suzuki averages 1.19 points per game and 2.3 shots on goal per game.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Scheifele (DK $6.2K || FD $6.9K), Nelson (DK $6.1K || FD $8.4K)
NHL DFS Wings
Cole Caufield- DK $7.0K || FD $8.5K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
As mentioned before, Montreal is in a good spot here tonight. If I am playing Nick Suzuki, I want to pair him up with Cole Caufield, even in a cash game. Caufield is averaging 1.0 points per game and 3.8 shots on goal per game. Suzuki and Caufield skate together on the top line and on the top power play as well.
Kyle Connor- DK $6.0K || FD $6.7K
Opponent - Anaheim Ducks
It is incredible to see Kyle Connor at these price points after the production he had last year. He has been playing better recently but he still has just 12 points in 14 games along with averaging 3.43 shots on goal per game. Anaheim allows the most goals on goal per game in the league and getting Connor in the $6K range is a good bargain in this spot considering what his upside is.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Pastrnak (DK $9.1K || FD $10.3K), Meier (DK $7.5K || FD $8.4K), Lee (DK $5.9K || FD $7.5K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
John Carlson- DK $6.8K || FD $7.3K
Opponent - Saint Louis Blues
John Carlson is my top expensive defenseman on this slate. He is averaging 0.75 points per game along with 3.33 shots on goal and 2.5 blocked shots per game. He is also on the power play and the Blues have the 6th worst penalty kill in the league.
Miro Heiskanen- DK $5.8K || FD $6.1K
Opponent - Florida Panthers
Miro Heiskanen averages 0.92 points per game, 2.38 shots on goal per game, and 1.38 blocked shots per game. A defenseman that almost averages a point per game at this price is a good bargain, even if playing against a good team like Florida.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Ekblad (DK $4.9K || FD $5.5K), Bjork (DK $3.3K || Not on FanDuel)
NHL DFS Top Stacks
Here is a handful of stacks I like:
- VGK1/PP1: Vegas is implied for the most goals on the slate. They are priced up a little bit because they are facing Arizona. Vegas 2 is a good cost-saving pivot if wanting exposure to this game but want a more expensive stack to pair with.
- BOS1: I try to roster David Pastrnak as much as I can. Now that he is skating with the top line, that's the stack I want. They are very expensive and might be difficult to fit all three. Going with Bergeron-Pastrnak is a good alternative
- WPG1: Anaheim allows the most shots on goal per game and this line is fully correlated to the Power Play.
- MTL1: Korpisalo in the net makes me interested in attacking Columbus. That top line is my preferred one for Montreal.
- PIT2: Games at the Xcel Energy Center are usually high scoring; Fluery is on the IR. I could see this unit being very productive.
