NHL DFS Goalies
Jake Oettinger- DK $7.7K || FD $7.8K
Opponent - Nashville Predators
The chalk play of the night tonight in the net will be whoever starts for the Boston Bruins, however, we will go a different direction with a Jake Oettinger home re-match with the Nashville Predators who he just held to a goal on Thursday. Oettinger saw his fair share of saves too with 31 out of 32 saves. Albeit Nashville having the upper hand for the majority of the game against Dallas, they still could not put a puck past Oettinger. Look for Oettinger to make a further statement this season as one of the top netminders in the league and expect a similar win at home tomorrow in the re-match.
Others To Consider (Cash/GPP): Swayman (DK $8.5K || FD $8.6K), Binnington (DK $8.3K || FD $7.9K)
Centers
David Krejci-DK $5.5K || FD $5.4K
Opponent - Arizona Coyotes
As the norm and as expected for another season, the Arizona Coyotes will be picked on numerous times in matchups. However, not many expected to see David Krejci’s name tossed around the league. Not only did Krejci come back, but he had a monster evening in the Bruins’ season debut, posting 1 goal, 2 assists, 1 shot and 1 blocked shot. He seems to be enjoying his time next to a familiar face David Pastrnak. The All-Czech line is buzzing in the early goings and it should continue against the Coyotes who conceded 6 goals to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday.
Robert Thomas- DK $4.6K || FD $6.5K
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
Not quite sure how the salary algorithm priced Thomas so low, but we will take advantage and say thank you after. Thomas will sit between fellow teammates and linemates from last season, Pavel Buchnevich and Vladimir Tarasenko. The three of them combined for 93 goals, 168 assists, 618 shots and 106 blocked shots last season. Keep in mind that all three of them had injuries last season as well. Now they get to go up against a Blue Jackets team who is not only down one of their top wingers, but they are coming off a 5-2 beating from the Tampa Bay Lightning at home. This spells a recipe for success at a great salary.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Bergeron (DK $6.8K || FD $7K), Hertl (DK $5.8K || FD $6.2K)
NHL DFS Wings
Wings
David Pastrnak- DK $8K || FD $9K
Opponent - Arizona Coyotes
We will continue with the All-Czech line here featuring Pastrnak. The winger had a massive game in his season debut pairing alongside fellow NHL and International teammate David Krejci. Pastrnak managed 1 goal, 3 assists and 6 shots in the 5-2 drubbing of the Washington Capitals. The Arizona Coyotes are a lesser opponent than the Capitals and it provides an even better matchup for Pastrnak to keep his hot form up.
Cole Caufield- DK $5.7K || FD $7.1K
Opponent - Washington Nationals
Caufield played lights out on Thursday against the Maple Leafs like the season never ended. The winger posted 2 goals, 5 shots and 1 blocked shot. The Washington Capitals are nothing to write home about right now and they have dropped their first 2 games of the season – a 3-2 loss to the Maple Leafs and a 5-2 loss to the Bruins –. Not only is their defense playing poorly, but their goaltending is not going to do much better without a strong defense in front of them. Both netminders rely on solid defense and they are not getting that in the early stages of the season. This bodes well for the speedy and crafty winger, Caufield is. In 67 games last season, he scored 23 goals, assisted 20 goals, took 188 shots and 7 blocked shots. Keep in mind that most of the production from last season came after Martin St. Louis took over as coach.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Tarasenko (DK $6.9K || FD $7.3K), Smith (DK $3.2K || FD $4.2K)
NHL DFS Defensemen
Justin Schultz- DK $2.9 || FD $3.6K
Opponent - Vegas Golden Knights
Despite mediocre at best production with the Washington Capitals, the Seattle Kraken are giving Justin Schultz a chance on the top power-play unit and he has yet to disappoint. The veteran defenseman who has hopped from team to team has the potential to once again quarterback a power-play after his successful days in Pittsburgh. Through his first two appearances of the season, he has 2 assists, 3 shots and 3 blocked shots. It is not the most ideal production, however, his salary is at the bottom of the player pool and it is worth taking the risk to pay up elsewhere.
Moritz Seider- DK $5.3K || FD $6.5K
Opponent - New Jersey Devils
Seider put in a massive effort last night in his season debut with 6 shots and 2 blocked shots. Unluckily, he did not get on the score sheet thanks to Detroit’s third line posting all three goals in the game. However, Seider was a big reason Detroit shut out the Canadiens and he will need to put in another big effort against the youthful Devils who are trigger-happy. Last season the Devils sat just outside of the top 10 in shots for and they took 30 in their first game this season – a 5-2 loss to the Flyers –. Seider should easily be able to hit value and more in this matchup that will be fast-paced.
Others To Consider (CASH/GPP): Lindholm (DK $5K || FD $5.2K), Petry (DK $4.6K || FD $4.9K)
