While the 2024 NFL regular season is still a few months away, fans already have high hopes for their favorite team. Meanwhile, bettors have already placed several bets on the upcoming season, including who will win the MVP award.
Quarterbacks typically win the MVP award, including 11 consecutive times. Last season, Lamar Jackson took home the award for the second time in the past five years. Surprisingly, there have been only three winners over the past six years, with Jackson winning in 2023 and 2019, Patrick Mahomes in 2022 and 2018, and Aaron Rodgers earning the award in 2021 and 2020.
Instead of looking at the favorites to win the MVP award, let’s look at three long-shot candidates who could bring home the trophy.

Jordan Love
No one knew what to expect from Love in his first season as the starting quarterback. He had a rough patch during the middle of the year but ended the 2023 season on fire. The Green Bay Packers quarterback had 32 passing touchdowns in his first year as the starter, the second-most in the NFL. Furthermore, Love had two or more passing scores in 10 of the final 11 games, including the playoffs.

Anthony Richardson
Unfortunately, fans only saw Richardson play in four games as a rookie because of injuries. He missed time with a concussion and a season-ending shoulder injury but should be 100% for Week 1. The former Florida star was outstanding on the field in limited action, totaling 577 passing yards and three touchdowns on only 84 attempts. Richardson was also a rushing machine, with 25 attempts for 136 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie.

Caleb Williams
Jim Brown is the only rookie in NFL history to win the MVP award, taking home the honor in 1957. However, that could change this year. Williams has massive expectations after an impressive college career. The Chicago Bears have set the rookie up to succeed in 2024, giving him three outstanding wide receivers, two reliable tight ends, and a backfield with receiving upside. Williams will be in the MVP conversation if the Bears win the NFC North division for the first time since 2018.
This THROW by Caleb Williams to DJ Moore 😳
Many NFL scouts reportedly believe the Williams to Moore connection could easily be “Top-10” in the NFL.
Williams will reportedly be training with Anthony Richardson and Brock Purdy leading up to training camp.
