The Masters Player Power Rankings: Top 10 Golfers To Watch

TourPicks ranks his top-10 PGA Tour players to watch for at the 2025 Masters Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club. Insights on the top-10 golfers for the week and reasons why they are primed to win.

The best in the world are set to embark on their annual voyage into the Georgia Pines and down Magnolia Lane. It's Masters week, and by dawn of next Sunday, another player will etch their name into golf history and slip on the Green Jacket.

In this article, I'm ranking my top 10 players who I believe have the best opportunity to win The Masters. I have carefully evaluated the field, searching for clues based on historical data and recent form to power rank each based on momentum coming into this week. These are the players in the best position to win the first Major of the year, The Masters.

Let’s dive into my Top 10 Power Rankings for the 2025 Masters Tournament:

No. 10 - Brooks Koepka

  • Koepka has been candid about The Masters being the most important tournament in the world for him. I'm still not willing to bet against the Big Game Hunter making another run when the tensions arise.

  • T2 in 2023 where he led most of the tournament. He's putted very well historically at Augusta National, gaining 6 strokes putting over the last five years.
  • Underrated at scrambling and chipping. Koepka ranks 2nd on LIV season in SG: ARG. Enters this week after a much-needed 2nd place in Singapore to get some confidence.

No. 9 - Shane Lowry

  • Enters the week in great current form. Top-20 across all four events during the Florida swing.

  • Lowry ranks 3rd in SG: Approach and 2nd in bogey avoidance over the past 24 rounds. He's gained strokes ARG in five consecutive starts.
  • T3, T16, and T43 in his last three appearances at Augusta National. Lowry gained over six strokes on the Tee-to-Green in each start. He's starting to put together the Augusta National puzzle pieces.

No. 8 - Bryson DeChambeau

  • His sixth-place finish last year was his best to date. DeChambeau will undoubtedly gain on the field OTT, but he has yet to master the significant contours on the greens. He's lost strokes ARG in his last five appearances at The Masters.

  • Contended in three of the four Majors last season, winning the U.S. Open and finishing 2nd at the PGA Championship. His game is built to excel on the most difficult golf courses.
  • Leading LIV Doral at the time of this writing. His power is a massive weapon when he's hitting it (relatively) straight.

No. 7 - Ludvig Aberg

  • Second place in his debut at The Masters last season, where Aberg led the tournament in putting on his first appearance at Augusta National. Simply unheard of stuff.

  • Recent troubling data with his irons made me bump Aberg down the rankings. If you rule out his win at the Genesis Invitational, Aberg has lost nearly 10 strokes on Approach in his other three most recent starts.
  • He's a Swedish cyborg with a swing built to dismantle Major Championships. That said, it's tough to expect him to outperform last year's Master's, where he uncharacteristically excelled on the greens.

No. 6 - Xander Schauffele

  • The Masters will be his fourth start since returning from a rib injury earlier this season. It should be passed him, and I consider him healthy at this point.

  • Schauffele has been harsh about the status of his game, but he recently led the field in Approach at the Valspar Championship, gaining +11.2 strokes for the week.
  • Excellent track record at Augusta. T17, T3, Cut, T10, 8th are the results in his last five starts. If he can somehow win this week, he'll hold in his possession three of the four active Major Championship trophies.

No. 5 - Justin Thomas

  • Maybe the biggest surprise in my rankings. I'm enamored with the consistency from Thomas of late. He's gained strokes Approach in five straight starts, and he's putting it as good as ever.

  • Thomas is trustworthy around the greens. He ranks Top 5 in SG: ARG at Augusta National over the last four years and often raises his baseline performance when the difficulty ramps up.
  • Thomas has a lot to prove. He's in the midst of a win-drought and has missed the cut at The Masters in both of his last two appearances. I believe in his upside and guts when he gets himself in the mix.

No. 4 - Collin Morikawa

  • Morikawa checks all the boxes for current form. Leads the PGA Tour in ball striking in 2025 and has two solo second-place finishes this year.

  • I don't love that he withdrew from the Valspar. The last tournament he played was The PLAYERS, making it four weeks since his last start, which doesn't align with several key trends from past winners.
  • Three consecutive Top-10 results at The Masters. He's seemingly figured out the golf course, but has he figured out how to win it?

No. 3 - Jon Rahm

  • Rahm is easily the best and most consistent player on LIV. In his last eight starts on LIV, Rahm has two wins and no finishes worse than sixth place!

  • Incredible touch around the greens. Rahm and his caddie make a great team and understand missing in the correct spots to give him a chance at up and down.
  • 2023 Masters Champion. He put the green jacket back on Scottie Scheffler last year, and you know Rahm would love nothing more than for Scheffler to slip it back on the broad Spaniard's shoulders in 2025.

No. 2 - Scottie Scheffler

Winning his third Masters in four years would be Scottie Scheffler's latest, and possibly most impressive, accomplishment for the history books. It's something only Jack Nicklaus could do, and it hasn't happened in nearly 60 years. It's hard to label statistical trends that would say Scheffler shouldn't be the odds-on favorite to win, except for the fact that when being in possession of the green jacket, it's remarkably hard to do just that.

Scheffler and Ted Scott together make the perfect team to tackle Augusta National. It's easy to be enamored by the Ball striking dominance of the world's number one ranked player, but it's his ability to separate himself from the field with his chipping that occasionally goes overlooked.

Scheffler ranks No. 1 in SG: ARG at Augusta National over the past four years and led all players in that category last season.

One concern that I may have is with the eye test. Scheffler has looked frustrated on the golf course, often. Last season, he arrived at Augusta National on the heels of two wins and a second place. He's not exactly struggling in 2025, but golf comes down to expectations, and Scheffler would be the first to say he's been a bit disappointed in his season thus far.

It's a perfect course fit, but I just don't know if the timing is right.

No. 1 - Rory McIlroy

Regarding timing, the question for Rory McIlroy headed into this week is "if not now, then when?". McIlroy has worked hard to "Scottify" his game in 2025, and he's seeing unprecedented results. He ranks second in SG: Total at the Majors over the last four years, and all signs point to 2025 being the best lead-in form yet for McIlroy.

Stop me if you've heard this before, but the importance of this week, McIlroy creates a world of intense emotions and expectations that he hasn't always managed well in his case for the career grand slam. This year just feels different. McIlroy has responded well thus far to high-pressure situations and has ingrained positive moments when he came up clutch into his brain.

McIlroy comes into this week with a proper plan in terms of his practice rounds and preparation. He's notched three victories in his last seven worldwide starts. His work this offseason has paid off, and those subtle swing changes have resulted in his best season with his irons in five years.

Now is your time, Rory. Go get the jacket!

Enjoy The Masters, and thanks for reading! Good luck, RotoBaller family!

Fantasy Football Dynasty Rookie Draft: Superflex, 12-Team (2025)

Don't we all love mock drafts? I sure do. The monotony of them can get... monotonous after a while when the vast majority of them just have short, shallow write-ups of each player without giving an emphatic, helpful take on each. I hope to do the opposite. Considering how far consensus can be (and usually […]

Early 2025 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: 12-Team, Single QB

There's never any reason not to do more fantasy football mock drafts and break down the efficacy of every pick. Or so the saying goes. Sun-Tzu probably said that in The Art of War. I haven't read the whole thing, so I'm not sure. Either way, it's never not interesting to speculate on what the […]

NFL Draft Predictions - 2025 First Round Mock Draft (Post-Free Agency)

It seems like the Super Bowl was just yesterday, but in reality, the NFL offseason is chugging right along. We have gone through the Senior Bowl, the first waves of free agency, and the NFL Combine. In just a few short weeks, we will have the NFL Draft. This draft class is unique, with a […]

Top 10 Fantasy Football Busts Of All Time - Le'Veon Bell, Peyton Hillis, LeSean McCoy, and more

Fantasy football managers have the fear of picking busts fresh in their minds every season because every year, players who are thought to be headed for productive seasons, whether due to injury, not reaching overly high expectations, or other reasons, bust hard. Those who drafted San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey are well aware […]

Every AFC Team's Most Overvalued Dynasty Fantasy Football Player

The 16 teams that comprise the AFC all have players that I don't think are worth, on their own, what you could get for them in trades as compensation. Not all of them are bad players, though. In fact, some of them are quite good. "Most overvalued" is a relative thing. And since there's not […]
