The Cut List - Players on the Chopping Block (Week 10)

NFL players to consider cutting, dropping or benching for Week 10 of the 2017 season. Jason's list of fantasy football busts, injuries, and overrated players.

As the season wears on, this list will feature more name brand players that you may have trouble letting go. Peyton Manning owners remember all too well how a big name can derail an entire season if you refuse to accept that he simply no longer has value. The names on this list no longer have fantasy value.

Each week from now until the end of the season, I’ll be offering my thoughts on players who don’t deserve to keep a roster spot on your fantasy football teams. Below are my Week 10 cuts and drops for fantasy football.

Let's get to it.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Players to Consider Dropping or Replacing

Pierre Garcon (WR, SF)

This one happened mid week so most of you probably dropped him already. Still, I am putting Pierre Garcon's name here as a reminder that he's done for the season.

C.J. Anderson (RB, DEN)

This is one of those guys that you shouldn't go out of your way to drop, but if you need to cut him, you shouldn't fret about it. C.J. Anderson posted 30 fantasy points in week 2 and 15 fantasy points in week 4. Aside from those two games, he hasn't reached double digits, including two games where he failed to reach two fantasy points. With Denver's offense a complete mess and the team just about quitting on horrendous head coach Vance Joseph largely due to how badly he botched the QB situation, which is the cause of all their problems, Anderson is just not a must own. Add to the mix a healthy Devontae Booker and an effective Jamaal Charles and CJA doesn't even have the volume floor anymore.

LeGarrette Blount (RB, PHI)

With Jay Ajayi in town, the Eagles have no real use for LeGarrette Blount. Ajayi is a fast, better version of Blount and when Ajayi needs a rest, going to Blount just doesn't make sense. Corey Clement was the other guy last week and Blount's nine carries had more to do with the score than anything else. Blount is looking like the biggest loser from the Ajayi trade. He's only been useful four out of nine weeks this season and won't be helping you this week with the bye. There's just no reason to hold onto him.

Jonathan Stewart (RB, CAR)

I actually know someone who started Jonathan Stewart last week. It was a combination of desperation and poor managing. I should've had JStew on this list weeks ago. Since his 16 point week 1, Stewart hasn't sniffed double digits. He has more games on the season with fewer fantasy points than you sitting on your couch than he does double digit games. He tried really hard to hand last week's game to Atlanta. Unfortunately for him, his efforts failed as the Falcons are just too terrible to beat competent teams. Stewart can barely run forward at this point in his career and apparently no longer has any interest in holding onto the football. Whereas CJA above is someone you can cut if you need to, Stewart is someone you should outright drop even if you don't have a clear replacement in mind.

Jordan Reed (TE, WAS)

I am going to put his name on this list every week until his ownership percentage drops below 50% or he actually shows up and makes me look stupid. Given that we're through nine weeks and he's been startable exactly once, I wouldn't bank on the latter.
