Ted Ginn Jr. (WR, NO) - Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Pickups

New Orleans Saints wide receiver (WR) Ted Ginn Jr. is a fantasy football waiver wire pickup to target as a free agent addition for Week 11 of the 2019 NFL season.

ANALYSISThe Saints had a horrible game against Atlanta this past weekend. They couldn’t score a single touchdown and finished with just three field goals and a big 26-9 defeat. Worst of all, Ginn didn’t even catch a single pass in a game in which he only saw three targets. That was the worst performance of the season so far for Ginn in games he’s been targeted at least once, finishing with just 0.5 points thanks to a rushing attempt he converted in five yards.

At this point, you know Ginn’s floor: a good old goose egg. That’s the risk of playing him in an offense in which both Michael Thomas and Jared Cook are clearly the preferred options for Drew Brees. Even with that, though, Ginn should come back to a more palatable set of outcomes for the rest of the season. Entering Week 10 he was on a four-game streak of scoring more than six fantasy points with his second-best game of the year coming in Week 5 against Tampa. He was averaging 40 receiving yards and two receptions on four targets prior to New Orleans’ bye week, so this game against Atlanta looks more like an outlier in his season than another thing.

With the Saints facing a great set of teams next (the 32nd, 24th, and 27th ranked teams against WRs), all bodes well for Ginn from this point to the fantasy playoffs. Ginn is by no means a weekly play at any of your WR slots, but he surely is a great play at the flex position during the next three weeks as the matchups can’t look tastier. Consider him a good addition if you play in a deep league and stream him as a flex or second-flex if you don’t have other options if only because of the rivals he’ll be facing.
