Ted Ginn Jr. Can Be Your Boom/Bust WR4

ANALYSIS: In Ted Ginn's seven seasons he has never played less than 13 games and has also never had more than 790 yards receiving. The speedster out of Ohio State has made his NFL career as a returner and fourth or fifth receiving option. Yet, his first season in Carolina has seen him become the second receiving option (behind Greg Olsen) and he has responded positively so far.

Ginn's line of 12/206/3 through four games this season is already better than his entire 2014 season in Arizona (14/190/0). Ginn's three touchdowns are already the second most he's had in a single season. He has shown some inconsistency catching the ball (his main problem throughout his career) but Cam Newton still completes around 50% of his passes thrown towards Ginn and 40% of those go for first downs.

Ginn is being used as an explosive down the field option (already 3 plays of 20+ receiving yards) much the same way Torrey Smith was used back in his Baltimore days. Like Smith, Ginn comes with great boom or bust potential as the Panthers are first and foremost a running team (lead NFL in rushing attempts).

The occasional deep shot each game should come Ginn's way which makes him a boom or bust WR4 or low end flex option. Kelvin Benjamin isn't coming back and no other Carolina receiver seems prepared to take over as the number one wide out on the team, so Ginn should continue to see consistent targets and put up solid but not great numbers.
