Taysom Hill (QB, NO) - Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickups

ANALYSIS: If you happen to be part of an ESPN fantasy league, congratulations on lining Taysom Hill up at the TE spot and reaping the mega-rewards. Also, I'm sorry to tell you that your exploits and cheats are over, as ESPN is bringing him back to his "natural" QB position from Week 12 on. Über-utility Hill started at quarterback for the Saints given Drew Brees injuries, and although it was sort of a surprising move with Jameis Winston also on the roster, the truth is that Hill looked the part--and then some.

Hill is a quarterback in most fantasy leagues and platforms, but here is his season line including his W11 stats: 22 of 28 passes completed for 319 yards; 44 carries for 237 yards (3 TDs); 6-of-9 receptions for 74 yards (1 TD). Now, you tell me what the hell this Taysom is. Anyways. While Hill didn't play to Mahomes levels, he did what he was asked to from the pocket and that was more than enough to finish with a pretty great 24.4 FP.

Taysom attempted a low-volume 23 passes, completed 18 of them (78.3%), and although he could connect for a single touchdown he avoided getting picked and exploited his rushing prowess to get 51 yards and 2 TDs (!!!) on his 10 carries. All in all, Hill bested his season average fantasy points by 17.8, no less.

Brees will be out for a while, and judging by how this last game turned out for New Orleans it makes sense for the Saints to keep Hill at the helm. Denver is a much tougher matchup, but nothing otherworldly ranking 15th against QBs. Then, Atlanta appears on the schedule once more and you just saw what happened yesterday. Not the worst stream you can add to your roster for the next couple of weeks, this Taysom.
