ANALYSIS: Another year, another Taysom Hill discussion about adding him off the waiver wire. As a QB, Hill won't score enough points to justify rostering him. But since he is TE eligible on many platforms, he becomes an intriguing waiver wire pickup for Week 2.
In the Week 1 matchup, Taysom Hill was productive with his touches in the 27-26 win over the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran had caught his only target for two yards in the game. However, he had four rushing attempts for 81 yards and an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter. That was good for 15.3 points in PPR leagues.
If he can continue to get touches and rack up some points, he would be a potentially viable start at tight end for fantasy football managers. Given how shallow the tight end position is, he's certainly worth a flier off the waiver wire.
Hill could end up returning significant value, and is a recommended waiver wire pickup for anyone who is weak at the tight end position. But expectations should be tempered until we see more usage and how many touches he gets.
