ANALYSIS: New Orleans Saints tight end Taysom Hill is the ultimate wild card. The do-it-all player is a tight end on most fantasy football platforms but plays more like a running back. Hill is the TE11 for the year, averaging 8.2 half-point PPR fantasy points with only 27 receptions on 34 for 233 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Where the veteran makes his fantasy points is in the ground game. He has 71 rushing attempts for 347 yards and four touchdowns, ranking second on the team in rushing scores behind Alvin Kamara.
Hill missed the Week 14 win over the Carolina Panthers before returning last week against the New York Giants. However, he had only one target and one rushing attempt in the game, totaling one fantasy point, his lowest total since Week 1.
Fantasy players should understand that the gadget player can go off for 14 or more fantasy points. He has done that in 30.8% of the games this year. Unfortunately, Hill can also score under four fantasy points, something he’s done in 46.2% of the contests.
While the Los Angeles Rams have surrendered the fifth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends (11.2), fantasy players shouldn’t consider that metric with Hill. Hill is your guy if you need a high-upside option at tight end. Otherwise, find a safer streaming option off the waiver wire.
