The 2024 fantasy football season is months away. However, the summer will fly by, and before anyone realizes it, it will be time to have your league’s draft.
Fantasy players will have tough decisions this year, as there are several talented and appealing options in the middle rounds. One of those decisions will be picking between Tank Dell and Christian Kirk.
Both players missed significant time last year because of injuries. However, both will be 100% healthy for the start of the 2024 season. Which wide receiver should fantasy players draft first? Let’s dive into it.

Tank Dell 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Dell was the WR38 last year, averaging 12.9 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. However, he was the WR16 on a points-per-game basis, posting a higher average than several big-name wide receivers, including Davante Adams and DK Metcalf. Dell had 47 receptions on 75 targets for 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns as a rookie, becoming a reliable go-to target for C.J. Stroud.

The Houston Texans made a blockbuster move this offseason, trading for Stefon Diggs. While the veteran isn’t the superstar he was years ago, he will cut into Dell’s workload. Furthermore, fantasy players must wonder if the Texans traded for Diggs because they have concerns that Dell can stay healthy for an entire season.
Christian Kirk 2024 Fantasy Football Outlook
Kirk was the WR47 in 2023, averaging 10.1 half-point PPR fantasy points per game. Unfortunately, he missed the final five games of the regular season because of a groin injury. The veteran was the WR35 on a points-per-game basis, finishing just ahead of Courtland Sutton and Terry McLaurin. Kirk had 57 receptions on 85 targets for 787 receiving yards and three touchdowns last year despite missing five contests.

While the veteran had a disappointing 2023 season, fantasy players should have high hopes for him this year. The Jacksonville Jaguars lost Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones this offseason, replacing them with Brian Thomas Jr. and Gabe Davis. Neither wide receiver can be Trevor Lawrence’s No. 1 guy, leaving that role for Kirk. The last time he was Lawrence’s No. 1 weapon, he was a top-12 fantasy wide receiver.
Which Wide Receiver Should I Draft In 2024?
Fantasy players should jump at the chance to draft either wide receiver. Both players are part of talented and dangerous offenses.
However, Kirk is higher in my rankings because he is the team’s clear-cut No. 1 wide receiver. Dell has meaningful competition from Diggs and Nico Collins. Meanwhile, the Texans could limit Dell’s workload early in the season with him coming off the broken leg.
