The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been one the best teams in the NFC over the past few years.
During Tom Brady's three years with Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers made the playoffs every year and won the Super Bowl in 2020.
Unfortunately, Brady retired this offseason, leaving the team with a massive hole at quarterback. However, that isn’t the Buccaneer's only need.

What Are The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Biggest Needs On Offense?
With Brady’s retirement, the Buccaneers will have a $35 million dead cap hit next year. Instead of spacing it out over the next few years, the team will reportedly take the entire hit in 2023.
Kyle Trask is the only quarterback currently on the roster under contract for next year. However, Tampa Bay reportedly will bring in a veteran this offseason.
Outside of quarterback, the Buccaneers have other needs on offense. Left tackle Donovan Smith will likely be a salary cap casualty this offseason. He had a down year in 2022, and the team can save up to $15 million in salary cap space by moving on from the veteran.
The good news for Tampa Bay is that the 2023 NFL Draft has several first-round offensive tackles. If Georgia’s Broderick Jones is available when the team is on the clock, he would be an excellent replacement for Smith.
What Are The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Biggest Needs On Defense?
Tampa Bay has had one of the best defenses in the NFL the past few years. However, the unit is getting older, and some players need to be replaced. One of those players is Lavonte David. The veteran linebacker has been with the team since 2012. However, he is a free agent this offseason. At 33 years old, the Buccaneers are unlikely to offer David a new contact.
One potential replacement option is Clemson’s Trenton Simpson. The star linebacker was a force in college, totaling 165 tackles, 23 tackles for a loss, and 13 tackles. Furthermore, he can play all over the field.
Pairing Simpson with Devin White would give the Buccaneers an excellent duo of linebackers to build their defense around for the next several years.
