BALLER MOVE: Add in All Leagues
OWNED IN: 59 percent of Fleaflicker leagues
ANALYSIS: Steven Souza Jr. drew some sleeper buzz prior to 2015, as the rookie was considered a potential 20/20 player. He only managed 16 home runs and 12 steals due to missing 50 games with hand and wrist injuries, and many owners found his .225 batting average difficult to stomach. Souza has already hit five homers in his first 16 games this season, helping him to a .293/.349/.586 line thus far. He's not going to keep up a 50 homer pace, and you can also expect the average to regress if he continues to run whiff rates north of 30 percent. Still, Souza's blend of power and speed isn't easily obtained on the waiver wire, and that's precisely where you can find him in nearly half of leagues right now. He's been hitting sixth or seventh in the Rays' lineup to this point, but that seems likely to change if he can maintain anything close to his current level of production. And if your league is a bit more progressive than the standard format and counts OBP instead of batting average, Souza becomes that much more attractive of an asset.
