Steve Pearce signed on with the Tampa Bay Rays in late January, and is expected to play in a platoon of sorts in the designated hitter slot with the potential to see some at-bats at first base and in the outfield. After a breakout 2014 campaign, Pearce disappointed fantasy owners with a .218/.289/.422 slash line in 2015. He still hit 15 home runs in just 294 at-bats, but the overall production was not what owners had expected. Pearce has had a ton of success at Tropicana Field throughout his career. Over the last three years as a member of the Baltimore Orioles, he has hit .288/.405/.682 with seven home runs in 66 AB in the Rays' home stadium. If he can continue that kind of success, even in a platoon role, he can be a viable fantasy option in deep leagues.
